The tall purple witch hat flops over to one side, yellow buckle right on the band, and the bushy white beard takes up half the body so you only see the tip of his nose. Pumpkin orange tummy, black boots, and hes carrying a tiny grey ghost on one side. A bat-winged grey kitten with bright green eyes hangs off the hat brim like ya best halloween sidekick.
Eleven colours total, ten colour changes, run them in the stop sequence the Wilcom file specifies or the hat stripes get muddied. Stitch range goes from 20,786 at the smallest 3.51-inch size up to 53,954 at the largest seven and a half inch. Density is high at 1035 so you want a solid stabiliser setup behind anything stretchy. Polyester thread holds the bright magenta and orange better than rayon under halloween party lighting, just my preference from past runs.
I get messages every september from mums stitching up matching gnome hoodies for kids halloween parade outfits, and this one always gets ordered in pairs with the matching ghost variant. One customer told me her daughter wanted the design swapped onto a felt trick-or-treat sack and it stitched beautifully on the heavy felt without a single thread snap.
Best on cream, light grey, sage or pumpkin orange fabric where the purple hat and grey ghost both pop. Skip black backgrounds, the grey ghost just disappears against them. Hoop with a heavy cutaway under anything stretchy because youre carrying a bunch of dense magenta and black fill across the gnome body. Pop a layer of mesh stabiliser under cotton tee fabric, the kitten face has detailed shading that needs the registration.
