So heres the Happy word done up as chunky pastel bubble letters with fat black satin outlines wrapping each shape. Pink H with white scribble marks. Butter yellow first A speckled with dots. Sage mint P carrying sketchy interior detail. Lilac second P. Dusty teal Y rounding the row out. Up top a tiny star, two bunny-ear shapes and a moon-ish bit sit like toppers above the word, perfect for kids decor.

But the faux-applique look is what sells it. Inside every letter ya get sketchy underlay marks running through the colour so it reads like real fabric pieces, not flat fills. Black satin borders trace each shape and theyre what gives it that storybook punch. Twelve colour blocks in total. The run carries eleven thread swaps and 88 trims so keep your snips sharp aswell.

So I drew this one a lot bigger than my usual lettering after parents kept asking for nursery-scale word designs for toddler clothing and children's rooms. One afternoon back in early april a mum messaged me about doing the seven and a half inch on her daughters second birthday tee, and said the pastels still read crisp after three cold washes. And the petite end of the size range works too, the 3-and-a-half inch fits clean on bibs, pocket placements and shower-gift muslins atleast as well as the bigger sizes.

Best on plain pale fabric so the soft palette shows. Stitch on natural linen, ivory waffle, cream cotton or pale grey jersey and the bubble fills sing. Pair the petite size with white onesies, muslin burp cloths or bib corners for fresh nursery gift sets. But avoid deep colour grounds altogether, the lilac and mint vanish on black or navy and ya lose the cream toppers entirely.

Density runs 1208 so its dense. Lay a firm cutaway underneath, doubled on stretchy jersey or fleece. Topping's your friend on terry, velour and pile fabrics to keep the satin borders sitting clean above the nap. Hoop snug. But dont crank the tension on knit cloth or the outlines'll pull weird. Holler at the shop inbox if your machine stutters mid-thread-swap during the colour sequence and ill re-order the stops then bounce a fresh file your way.

About the artist

Reyazul Masud Riham, hand-drawing every design on this site

Every design on Re Embroidery is hand-digitized by one person. Each file gets sketched, color-matched, and stitch-tested on real fabric before it earns a place in the shop. No team. No auto-conversion from images. Just slow, deliberate work, sometimes three or four days per design.

That's the joy I work for.

The hard part is finding my designs re-uploaded and resold elsewhere. So when you buy from Re Embroidery, you're paying one real person for the file you're about to download. That matters.
