Heres a big rainbow balloon bunch with eleven round balloons floating above the bold Happy Birthday lettering. Red, orange, yellow, green, teal, blue, purple, magenta and pink balloons sit clustered together kinda like a real helium bunch, each with a tiny white highlight curve on top. Thin balloon strings drop down and tangle into the script letters in a really nice messy way.
Lettering runs in chunky black satin so the strokes shine smooth and ropey on fabric, with Happy stacked above the cursive Birthday underneath. The balloons themselves use a soft fill stitch so they read as round and inflated, not flat circles. Eleven colour changes total which sounds like alot but its mostly fast bobbin work on the balloons. Theres a small pink balloon tucked at the bottom right corner that I really love.
I been making birthday designs for ages now and this one keeps showing up in my orders for kids party tees. One customer messaged me last week saying she stitched five matching shirts in three days for her sons fifth birthday party, one for each guest. Comes in five sizes from 3.41 inches up to 7.31 inches wide. Smallest fits a baby onesie chest panel, biggest fills the front of a youth tee. Goes great on cotton jersey, polyester blends, fleece and lightweight canvas. Id skip super stretchy lycra here because the balloon outlines cant hold their shape when the fabric rebounds.
Use a soft cutaway stabiliser behind any stretch knit, tearaway works fine for woven cotton totes. Densest section is the black script down at the bottom so consider a polyester topping on fleece to keep the letters crisp. Drop the file straight into your machine, itll run about 35 mins on a 5 inch hoop and youre done.
