The lettering here is big cursive, 'Happy' floats on top and 'Halloween' carries the bottom in a sweeping arc. Both words are charcoal black with the kind of decorative calligraphy that has those thick downstrokes and hairline upstrokes. Its a lot going on and it works.

Left side of the design sits a skull with deep empty eye sockets lit up in burnt orange, sort of grinning in that classic cartoon skull way. Top centre a bare twisted tree branch pokes through the top word. Over to the right theres a tiny witch hat silhouette on a slender broomstick. Below the lettering a round spider web fans out with 2 spiders and a small jack-o-lantern face dangling from the script. Thats the only warm orange in the whole design, which is why it catches your eye first. Three colours total, mostly black, then the orange glow on the skull and the pumpkin.

I get messages from costume shop owners and party planners buying this in bulk around october. One customer last year ordered it for a halloween-themed tea towel set she was selling at a local market, which I thought was a pretty clever early-season grab. Five sizes from 2.22 inches wide up to 5.18 inches, so ya can fit it on a mug press panel, a tote pocket or a full apron front. Dont sleep on the medium 3-inch for zipped coin pouches aswell.

Run this on black cotton or dark charcoal linen for maximum drama. The orange pops off dark backgrounds something brilliant. Stitch on pale fabric if ya want a softer, vintage-card kind of read. Use cutaway stabiliser underneath regardless of your base fabric because the lettering satin columns and the spider web all want a stable backing to sit flat. Slow the machine slightly for the web sections since those fine crossing threads need tension control. At 17,750 stitches on the big size its a lot of colour detail on a 3-colour budget.

About the artist

Reyazul Masud Riham, hand-drawing every design on this site

Every design on Re Embroidery is hand-digitized by one person. Each file gets sketched, color-matched, and stitch-tested on real fabric before it earns a place in the shop. No team. No auto-conversion from images. Just slow, deliberate work, sometimes three or four days per design.

That's the joy I work for.

The hard part is finding my designs re-uploaded and resold elsewhere. So when you buy from Re Embroidery, you're paying one real person for the file you're about to download. That matters.
