The letters are the main event here. Happy New Year in a thick, looping cursive script, satin-filled in dark green with proper calligraphic weight variation, the uprokes thin and the downstrokes fat. Around the text, about half a dozen red starburst shapes scatter like fireworks mid-burst, each one with straight narrow petals coming out from a tiny orange center dot. Black 6-pointed asterisk stars fill the gaps. Its a celebration design that reads festive without being overloaded, and thats exactly what you want for NYE stuff.

Five sizes, smallest is 3.19 next to 3.50 inches at the small sweep just over 10,000 stitches, which is a comfortable 4x4 hoop run. The largest comes out at 6.83 x 7.50 inches and 22,775 stitches, thats when the script really has room to breathe and you can see the satin-fill density working properly. Run no-show cutaway underneath on stretch fabrics so the script letters dont pucker between the fill areas. On wovens, tearaway works fine.

My niece wanted this on a sparkly silver fleece jacket last new years, the 5-inch size on the back. The dark green against silver was kind of unexpected but it looked really good in photos. I wouldve gone with white but she was right about the silver. Hoop polymesh underneath for fleece so the dense script stays tight during the run.

Stitch it on black fabric and the red bursts pop like actual fireworks. Works on party totes, banner fabric, kid shirts for new years eve, even cocktail napkins for a NYE party. The 3-inch size fits neatly on a shirt pocket, the 5-inch sits well centered on a front panel. Reach out if you need a recommendation on thread shade, that deep green in the script can vary quite a bit between manufacturers.

What people are using this design for

A starting point. The design works for plenty more than just this list, this is what folks have stitched it onto most.

  • New Year party t-shirts and sweatshirtsStitch the 5-inch size centered on a sweatshirt chest for a NYE party top, dark green reads beautifully on black or white fleece.
  • NYE party tote bags and gift bagsThe 4-inch size on a canvas tote makes a quick new year gift bag, pair with a bottle of champagne or chocolates inside.
  • Holiday cocktail napkins and table linensUse the 3-inch size on cotton cocktail napkins, stitch a set of 4 for a NYE dinner party table in under an afternoon.
  • Kids' new year party outfitsThe smallest 3-inch size fits neatly on a kids shirt front, low stitch count means quick runs even on stretchy jersey.
  • Banner fabric for new year displaysStitch across a wide strip of natural cotton canvas for a hanging banner, space 2 or 3 repeats across for a full party display.
  • Festive pillow covers for January decorStitch the 7-inch size centered on a white or cream pillow, works as festive January decor before you switch back to everyday cushions.

About the artist

Reyazul Masud Riham, hand-drawing every design on this site

Every design on Re Embroidery is hand-digitized by one person. Each file gets sketched, color-matched, and stitch-tested on real fabric before it earns a place in the shop. No team. No auto-conversion from images. Just slow, deliberate work, sometimes three or four days per design.

That's the joy I work for.

The hard part is finding my designs re-uploaded and resold elsewhere. So when you buy from Re Embroidery, you're paying one real person for the file you're about to download. That matters.
