Narrow vertical castle with bat wings coming off the towers. The whole silhouette is solid black, one colour, and it runs tall rather than wide. Heights go from 3.59 inches on the small version reaching 7.5 inches, while widths stay narrow between 1.6 and 3.34 inches. Its designed for placement on sleeves, pockets, side seams, and narrow strip areas where a wider design wouldnt work. The bat wings give the turrets this gothic architecture look, almost like they're built right into the castle walls.

5 sizes, stitch counts from 6705 up to 14571 stitches. Density is 582, firm enough for clean satin lines on the tower details and the bat wing edges without being overly packed. And because its single colour you can do all 5 sizes in one colour in a single afternoon if you want to prep a batch. Mapped this in Wilcom with those wing sections running directional satin to show the membrane stretch, so even at the smallest size the wings dont just look like blobs.

Last november a customer ordered 3 copies of the 3-inch size for a set of matching linen pouches they were making as Halloween gifts. She asked if shed need extra stabilising at the tall proportions and I said yes, cutaway only, no tearaway. She came back saying they turned out better than expected. On cream linen in black thread the architectural quality of the castle really shows.

Back it with cutaway stabiliser, especially on the larger sizes where the tall narrow shape can distort if the base shifts. On denim or canvas a firm tearaway works. Use a topping on fleece to keep the turret linework from sinking into the pile. Pick black, charcoal or navy thread to keep the gothic look clean. The 7.5-inch size is big enough for a full-length sleeve panel on a hoodie.

About the artist

Reyazul Masud Riham, hand-drawing every design on this site

Every design on Re Embroidery is hand-digitized by one person. Each file gets sketched, color-matched, and stitch-tested on real fabric before it earns a place in the shop. No team. No auto-conversion from images. Just slow, deliberate work, sometimes three or four days per design.

That's the joy I work for.

The hard part is finding my designs re-uploaded and resold elsewhere. So when you buy from Re Embroidery, you're paying one real person for the file you're about to download. That matters.
