Sketched out a classic haunted castle scene with the full moon behind it and its got proper storybook halloween vibes. Tall castle silhouette with skinny spires sits dead centre, bats swooping across the face of a big glowing orange moon. Bare leafless trees frame both sides, branches stitched as fine directional lines. Three little jack-o-lanterns nestle at the base in grass tufts, two on the left, one on the right.
Five thread colours doing real work here. Deep dark navy carries the silhouette of the castle, the trees, the grass and the pumpkin outlines. A soft warm yellow into pale orange gradient builds the moon glow. Bright pumpkin orange fills the jack-o-lantern bodies, theres the navy carving showing through for those classic spooky grins.
Worked this up after my friend asked me for something for her sons halloween classroom door last year. It went over so well that I get messages every september from teachers and stitchers asking about it. Honestly its kinda become my best october seller and Im not mad about that.
Five sizes from 3.86 inch up to 7.3 inch tall. The bigger sizes show off all the moon detail better, smaller ones still keep the castle spires crisp but the bat detail can get abit fiddly under 4 inches. Heres the thing though, the 5 inch size hits the sweet spot for most home hoops.
Stitches best on lighter backgrounds where the navy silhouette reads. Try cream cotton, pale orange canvas, or natural linen. Pop a tearaway behind woven fabrics, switch to cutaway for sweatshirt fleece. Drop me a message if the moon gradient gives you trouble loading and Ill sort it out.
