Its a circular stamp badge about three inches across at the smallest size and the layout is packed. A skeleton sits in the upper left corner, ribcage visible, one bony hand raised in a peace sign. To the right of him, "Have" curves along the top in block caps, then "The Day" fills the centre in a huge flowing retro script, and "You" sits beneath it in a smaller complementary font. "Deserve" completes the bottom arc in matching block caps. Small heart and dot ornaments fill the gaps, and a double-line ring border finishes the whole stamp shape.

Single black thread, no colour changes at all. Thats what makes it feel print-quality even as an embroidery piece. The variety comes entirely from the different lettering weights and the bone detail, dense satin on the thick letters, fine satin on the bony ribs and knuckles. Youre not swapping threads once, its a clean single-stop run.

Last autumn a customer stitched the 6-inch version onto her commuter bag and told me it became the most commented-on thing in her entire office. Most people laughed, a few took a photo. The gothic badge format is what stops it reading as just a phrase on fabric, its more like someone commissioned a proper woven label for it.

Use black thread on white, natural, or grey fabric for cleanest contrast. Skip dark backgrounds at smaller sizes because fine lettering and thin bony detail lose definition quickly. Back with a firm tearaway under shirt cotton and add a water-soluble topping on textured fleece to stop the letters sinking in. Step up to the 6 or 8 inch sizes when stitching on thick canvas or denim, the letterforms breathe better with room and the badge proportion looks right.

What people are using this design for

A starting point. The design works for plenty more than just this list, this is what folks have stitched it onto most.

  • Sarcastic and dark humour tote bagsStitch on a black or natural canvas tote and the badge sits like a proper brand logo, not a craft-fair novelty
  • Gothic aesthetic caps and beaniesThe circular format fits a cap front panel at 3 or 4 inches without needing to crop any element
  • Alternative fashion jacket back patchesWorks as a jacket sleeve or back patch for anyone building an alternative fashion or gothic aesthetic wardrobe
  • Halloween and gothic market vendor stockThis is a consistent seller at halloween markets and gothic craft fairs because the humour lands across a wide customer age range
  • Work bag and laptop sleeve ironic decorEmbroider on a zipped laptop sleeve or book bag and it reads as a witty everyday-carry statement
  • Funny gift for coworkers and friendsMakes a genuinely funny leaving gift or work-friend birthday present when stitched on a pouch or small cushion
  • Streetwear brand patch and badge productionSmall businesses producing alternative streetwear patches find the single-colour fast stitch time makes batch runs very economical

About the artist

Reyazul Masud Riham, hand-drawing every design on this site

Every design on Re Embroidery is hand-digitized by one person. Each file gets sketched, color-matched, and stitch-tested on real fabric before it earns a place in the shop. No team. No auto-conversion from images. Just slow, deliberate work, sometimes three or four days per design.

That's the joy I work for.

The hard part is finding my designs re-uploaded and resold elsewhere. So when you buy from Re Embroidery, you're paying one real person for the file you're about to download. That matters.
