Mocked this one up over valentines day a couple years back but it sells just aswell in June for anniversaries and August for back-to-school gifts, which tells you the design transcends occasion. Its a clean cream gift box, gold satin bow sitting right on top, the ribbon crossing the box sides in two diagonal lines, and a scarlet heart-shaped balloon floating up from the bow end on a thin string. Simple idea but the balloon string is what ties the two elements together and gives it movement.

Eight colours: cream box body, ivory box highlight, gold bow and ribbon, warm dark outline, scarlet heart fill, a soft pink shadow for depth on the balloon, balloon string in charcoal, and a white box lid edge. The design runs wide, 2.5 to 7.5 inches across, with heights from 1.71 to 5.13 inches, so its a wide-and-shallow orientation rather than tall. Stitch counts go from 4,405 to 18,573. Density is 483, well within a standard cutaway stabiliser range, dont overthink the stabilising on this one.

Built in Wilcom EmbroideryStudio with the heart fill running in a radial satin pattern from the balloon centre so it catches light like an actual inflated surface rather than a flat shape. One customer hooped the 5-inch run onto a blush canvas tote last month for a baby shower gift bag and the red against blush looked genuinely sophisticated. The gold ribbon satin runs directionally and reads as reflective on almost any fabric weight.

Holler if you need a colour swap on the bow before you hoop, Im happy to advise on thread substitutes. Stitch on blush, ivory, or champagne ground fabrics for the best palette harmony. Run the 4-inch on a tea towel centre panel for a sweet kitchen gift. Add a medium cutaway backing and keep a topping layer on any fabric with visible texture so the cream box edges dont lose their shape.

What people are using this design for

A starting point. The design works for plenty more than just this list, this is what folks have stitched it onto most.

  • Blush canvas tote bags for birthday or anniversary giftsBlush canvas at 5 inches is the most requested placement from customers who order this for shower gifts.
  • Baby shower gift bags and fabric wrappingThe 4-inch size fits a standard gift bag exterior panel with visible margin around all sides.
  • Tea towels and kitchen linens as housewarming giftsOn a white cotton tea towel the gold ribbon and cream box contrast cleanly without merging.
  • Valentines Day or anniversary tees and tanksFor a valentines tank, the 3-inch size on the upper chest reads as a subtle romantic detail.
  • Wedding favour pouches and silk bagsSmall 2.5-inch version hooped on a silk or satin pouch makes a reusable wedding favour bag.
  • Thank-you gift card holder fabric envelopesA fabric envelope for a gift card with this design stitched on front is a popular request in December.

About the artist

Reyazul Masud Riham, hand-drawing every design on this site

Every design on Re Embroidery is hand-digitized by one person. Each file gets sketched, color-matched, and stitch-tested on real fabric before it earns a place in the shop. No team. No auto-conversion from images. Just slow, deliberate work, sometimes three or four days per design.

That's the joy I work for.

The hard part is finding my designs re-uploaded and resold elsewhere. So when you buy from Re Embroidery, you're paying one real person for the file you're about to download. That matters.
