The heart here is an outline, not a filled block, so the paw print sitting inside it gets to do all the visual work. One large pad at the bottom, four toe pads arranged above it, the whole paw rendered in a solid fill at 464 density while the heart around it is just a clean satin column outline a few millimetres wide. Its one colour but the contrast between the open heart and the filled paw gives it a layered look that most people assume took two threads when they see it stitched out.

Six sizes in the download, 2.5 inches up to 7.5, which is a wider range than most designs I release. The stitch count swings from 3428 on the smallest to 22300 on the largest, so theres genuinely different complexity at each end of the range. Pick the hoop size first, dont scale a large file down in your software as the satin column widths wont adjust properly. Use a cutaway stabiliser throughout, the satin outline on the heart has thin column runs and tearaway doesnt hold those stable enough during stitching. Ive run this on a red thread on white canvas and on black thread on a pale grey fleece and both came out sharp.

One customer wrote to me last spring after using the 2.5-inch version to stitch an entire row of these across a baby blanket border, alternating red and pink thread. She said the toe pads stayed distinct at that scale which she wasnt expecting. Stitch it on a pet bandana, a canvas tote, a lead pouch, or a childs jersey shirt. The single-colour build keeps it clean on any fabric colour as long as the thread contrasts well with the base. Use topping film on fleece and terry cloth to stop the fill sinking into the pile during stitching.

What people are using this design for

A starting point. The design works for plenty more than just this list, this is what folks have stitched it onto most.

  • Pet bandanas as a simple affordable pet giftPet bandana as a simple affordable gift for a new dog or cat owner, the 464 density fill stays crisp on soft cotton with medium cutaway.
  • Baby blanket border repeat pattern in alternating coloursBaby blanket border repeat at 2.5-inch spacing in alternating red and pink thread, a customer who tried this said the toe pads stayed distinct at that scale.
  • Dog lead or treat pouch accent panel in canvasDog lead pouch or treat bag at 3-inch version centred on the pouch face, practical and personal for a dog-owner gift.
  • Tote bag for pet supply runs or vet tripsCanvas tote as a full-panel front motif at 7.5 inches, one colour but the open heart and solid paw contrast makes it look more complex.
  • Childs tee shirt for a kid who loves their petMemorial hoop art in deep burgundy or forest green on natural linen, the thread colour choice turns a simple design into something meaningful.
  • Denim patch with iron-on backing for a jacket accentDenim jacket front pocket area as an iron-on patch after stitching with backing applied, the satin outline stays durable through heavy wear.

About the artist

Reyazul Masud Riham, hand-drawing every design on this site

Every design on Re Embroidery is hand-digitized by one person. Each file gets sketched, color-matched, and stitch-tested on real fabric before it earns a place in the shop. No team. No auto-conversion from images. Just slow, deliberate work, sometimes three or four days per design.

That's the joy I work for.

The hard part is finding my designs re-uploaded and resold elsewhere. So when you buy from Re Embroidery, you're paying one real person for the file you're about to download. That matters.
