This hedgehog is a lil round ball of happiness. Its sitting up on its back legs, holding a big white daisy right out in front of it like its offering you a gift. A few more daisies are tucked in among the spines on its back which is such a nice touch. Big round eyes, chubby pink cheeks, tiny nose, the whole look is countryside-cottage adorable.

Fifteen colours go into this thing and you can realy see where they all earn their place. The spines shade from dark chestnut at the base through to a lighter tan at the tips. The belly is a soft cream. Each flower head has white petals with a yellow centre and proper satin stitch fill on the faces, and the stem is a bright sage green. Fifteen colour changes sounds like alot but Wilcom laid the sequence out sensibly, most changes are quick swaps and the bobbin thread count is well managed.

Ping me if the file gives you any bother. I sell this one alot to craft mums who do personalised gifts, and my mum actually asked me to put her name on one for a bag she wanted last autumn. The spines have enough density that you need a firm stabiliser underneath, dont skip it or the texture in the brown spine area will lose its 3D quality.

Pair tearaway with the knit and stretch fabrics, tear-away works fine on woven cotton and canvas. The biggest 7.49-inch version sits beautifully as a centre motif on a cream tote bag or a white cotton cushion cover. Smaller beginning 3.5 down are good for apron chest pockets and kids bibs. Hoop tight and use a topping on fluffy fleece because the daisy petals have fine directional stitch lines that can sink.

78k stitches on the largest size so take your time with thread tension before you start. But honestly the payoff is worth it, this one photographs realy well once its done. Drop me a message if something threads up wrong and ill walk you through it.

About the artist

Reyazul Masud Riham, hand-drawing every design on this site

Every design on Re Embroidery is hand-digitized by one person. Each file gets sketched, color-matched, and stitch-tested on real fabric before it earns a place in the shop. No team. No auto-conversion from images. Just slow, deliberate work, sometimes three or four days per design.

That's the joy I work for.

The hard part is finding my designs re-uploaded and resold elsewhere. So when you buy from Re Embroidery, you're paying one real person for the file you're about to download. That matters.
