Pulled this together after alot of requests for a summer design that actually looks like summer, not just the word on a blank background. The sunglasses are the main event here. Big cat-eye frames in sky blue, lenses filled with a bright magenta-pink satin that catches the light something special when its hooped on a thick stabiliser. A black outline runs the whole way around the frames so the shape reads cleanly even on dark fabric.
Below the shades SUMMER runs in chunky 3D block letters. Each letter takes a red fill with a black shadow dropping behind it, and the whole thing sits on a sweeping red underline stitch. HELLO sits above in smaller letters in that same red. The whole badge is wide rather than tall, running from 1.85 inches up to a 3-inch version, so it fits a standard shirt pocket or tote front without needing to resize at all. Stitch count goes from 8,346 up to 15,251 at the largest, so youre looking at a proper dense fill. Use cutaway stabiliser, dont rush the bobbin tension, and pull your hoop snug before you start.
5 colours total: black, red, pink-magenta, white, and that robin-egg blue. 4 colour changes, 5 stops. Built through Wilcom EmbroideryStudio so the density is mapped properly across each element. One customer ordered the 3-inch version hooped on a canvas beach bag last July and said it held up through the whole wash cycle without any lifting on the satin. And these are the designs that get asked about most from June onwards. Thats been true every year since I first put this up.
Small leaf sprigs on either side give it that tropical badge feel. Pop it on beach towels in terry cloth if you run a topping layer over the satin sections first. Stitch it onto polo shirts, summer tees, bucket hats, kids camp gear. The red is bold enough that it pops even on mid-tone denim, so dont reach for a backing colour swap unless youre going on very dark navy.
What people are using this design for
A starting point. The design works for plenty more than just this list, this is what folks have stitched it onto most.
- Summer tote bags and canvas beach bagsThe 3-inch badge sits perfectly centred on a standard canvas tote without competing with handles or seams.
- Kids camp t-shirts and summer holiday gearBold block letters read instantly from a distance, great for camp name labels or group activity shirts made in bulk.
- Beach towels with topping on the satin fillsRun a water-soluble topping over the satin lenses on terry cloth so the loops dont swallow the fill.
- Polo shirts and short-sleeve summer topsHoops well on a shirt pocket or left-chest position with a medium-weight cutaway stabiliser underneath.
- Bucket hats and sun visorsThe wide badge format fits a 6-panel bucket hat panel without distortion when hooped flat.
- Pool party decorative cushionsStitch on outdoor-grade canvas cushion covers for a pop-up summer market or patio setup.
- Summer craft fair vendor teesVendors at summer markets love this one because it prints bright and reads from across a booth.

About the artist
Reyazul Masud Riham, hand-drawing every design on this site
Every design on Re Embroidery is hand-digitized by one person. Each file gets sketched, color-matched, and stitch-tested on real fabric before it earns a place in the shop. No team. No auto-conversion from images. Just slow, deliberate work, sometimes three or four days per design.
That's the joy I work for.
The hard part is finding my designs re-uploaded and resold elsewhere. So when you buy from Re Embroidery, you're paying one real person for the file you're about to download. That matters.
