The shaggy fringe is the whole point of this design, at density 199 the fur layering is the most technically demanding part of the file. Nine colours, nine sizes from 3.5 scaling to 7.5 inches, stitch count from 1,040 up to 72,375 at the largest. Thats a big stitch count. Id plan atleast 45 minutes for the 7.5-inch at normal machine speed, so dont start it five minutes before you need to leave the house.

Digitised in Wilcom with multiple layered passes on the amber fringe, the underlay runs flat, then a mid-density directional pass for texture, then the top satin layer in colour-matched threads. The eye detail uses a very tight satin with a black topping layer so the eyelashes sit proud of the face without merging into the surrounding fur. Use cutaway on everything, at 199 density tearaway will not hold the pull without tearing through. Ive run it on fleece, denim, cotton canvas, and quilting cotton and it performs best on firm structured fabrics. Stitch on a scrap piece of your base fabric first and check that the fringe satin isnt pulling the weave before committing to the full project.

I get messages about the design all the time from the cottagecore and farmhouse-aesthetic crowd. One customer wrote me last november about a batch of sweatshirts she was making as christmas gifts, she used the 5-inch size on cream French terry and said the shaggy golden fringe looked even better than she expected against the warm fabric. Colour is the thing people ask about most. The sequence is logical: background first, nose and muzzle second, face fill third, fringe layers last. Keep your iron temperature low when pressing the finished piece so the eyelash satin doesnt flatten out.

What people are using this design for

A starting point. The design works for plenty more than just this list, this is what folks have stitched it onto most.

  • Centre motif on cottagecore hoop art pieceCottagecore hoop art at the full size on natural cotton canvas, the layered amber fringe is what makes this design worth the 45-minute run time.
  • Front panel on farmhouse-theme tote bagFarmhouse-theme tote front panel at 6 inches, the shaggy cow face has stopped strangers at markets according to multiple customers.
  • Left-chest placement on ladies sweatshirtLadies sweatshirt left chest at 5 inches on French terry, topping over the textured surface prevents the fur satin from sinking.
  • Centre front on kids bedroom decor cushionDenim jacket back panel at 7 inches, heavy cutaway and a denim needle, the eye-lash satin earns careful pressing when youre done.
  • Patch panel on denim jacket backKids bedroom cushion cover in cream or sage fabric, press lightly from the reverse after stitching to settle the layered fur.
  • Top pocket accent on canvas crossbody bagCanvas crossbody bag top pocket at 4 inches, firm hooping keeps the face satin from pulling at the pocket corners.
  • Framed botanical-style farmhouse wall hoopFramed farmhouse wall hoop on natural linen, the 199-density fringe looks genuinely three-dimensional at gallery viewing distance.

About the artist

Reyazul Masud Riham, hand-drawing every design on this site

Every design on Re Embroidery is hand-digitized by one person. Each file gets sketched, color-matched, and stitch-tested on real fabric before it earns a place in the shop. No team. No auto-conversion from images. Just slow, deliberate work, sometimes three or four days per design.

That's the joy I work for.

The hard part is finding my designs re-uploaded and resold elsewhere. So when you buy from Re Embroidery, you're paying one real person for the file you're about to download. That matters.
