Heres the hugging puppies design and atleast for me its the sweetest one I drew this season. Two cartoon pups, one tan one cream, wrapped up in a side hug with their little ears squashed together. Tiny pink tongues poking out. Dark brown nose buttons. Big dopey eyes that just kill ya.

The fills are mostly soft satin work with directional stitch following the fur line so youre getting dimension on the bodies instead of a flat patch. I kept the palette small. 9 colour blocks total. Tan, cream, charcoal outline, pink, soft grey shadow under the paws plus a couple of accent threads for the eyes and noses. Honestly the simple palette is what makes em read clean from across a room.

Stitch on white, oatmeal or pale sage cotton for the cleanest look. Steer clear of deep navy or black because the cream paws lose every bit of definition, I tested it and the contrast just isnt there. Pop the small 3.5-inch version on a baby onesie or burp cloth, run the 7-inch on a nursery cushion or a kids tote.

Density runs about 25k stitches small to 75k stitches on the biggest hoop. Use a medium cutaway stabiliser on knit baby cloth, alot of stretch under the satin will pucker without it. I cant tell ya how often I get messages from baby shower mums asking which size for a 0-3 month onesie, the 3.5-inch fits clean on the chest panel. A doula friend grabbed four of em last december for a stack of new-baby gift bags and shes still ordering refills.

Knock the chat tool if a fill comes up short on your stitchout.

What people are using this design for

A starting point. The design works for plenty more than just this list, this is what folks have stitched it onto most.

  • Nursery cushion covers and throw pillowsRun the 7-inch hoop on a soft sage or oatmeal cushion cover and pair with simple piping for nursery shelves
  • Baby shower gift bag patchesPop a small version on a canvas gift bag for baby shower favours, holds up through the wash on cotton
  • Toddler tote bags and backpacksEmbroider on a kids tote in tan or cream and the puppies pop without fighting busy school-bag prints
  • Burp cloth and bib cornersPlace a tiny version on the corner of a muslin burp cloth, satin runs short enough to stay soft on baby skin
  • Crib quilt centre blocksCenter the 6-inch hoop on a quilt block panel and frame it with simple triangle patchwork border
  • Hooded baby towel hood embroideryStitch on the front fold of a hooded baby towel and the cartoon shapes read clear even on terry pile

About the artist

Reyazul Masud Riham, hand-drawing every design on this site

Every design on Re Embroidery is hand-digitized by one person. Each file gets sketched, color-matched, and stitch-tested on real fabric before it earns a place in the shop. No team. No auto-conversion from images. Just slow, deliberate work, sometimes three or four days per design.

That's the joy I work for.

The hard part is finding my designs re-uploaded and resold elsewhere. So when you buy from Re Embroidery, you're paying one real person for the file you're about to download. That matters.
