A linen kitchen towel is where this one really shines. Hoop it centered on the lower third, keep the density in mind (this design runs at 545 stitches per square inch), and use a cutaway stabiliser underneath rather than tearaway. The emerald green body stitches out in tight directional satin rows, the sky blue wings fan out wide with clear parallel underlay lines you can actually see the structure of, and the coral red flowers pop against any cream or white fabric like you wouldnt believe.

Theres a lot going on here. Six distinct colour zones, a pink throat patch, yellow gold buds, and that teal belly section that shifts from light to dark. Its the kind of design that takes a bit longer to set up on your machine but the result is worth it. My neighbour asked me last week what hoop size I used because she wanted to copy the placement on her canvas tote, and I told her that at 5 inches it clears the handles on a standard 14 oz canvas without crowding them.

Pick a topping film if you're stitching onto jersey or terry cloth, otherwise the satin sections sink into the pile and you lose the definition on the wings. Use cutaway on the back, trim close, and the whole piece holds its shape through the wash. Add it to denim shirt pockets aswell, that dark blue canvas background really makes the green and blue jump out. Stitch a set of hand towels, frame a hoop for a nursery wall, or center it on the back panel of a tote bag your craft-fair customers wont stop asking about.

What people are using this design for

A starting point. The design works for plenty more than just this list, this is what folks have stitched it onto most.

  • Linen kitchen towelAt 5 inches wide it fills the lower third of a tea towel without going edge to edge.
  • Canvas tote bagCenter it on 14 oz cotton canvas and the coral and green pull eyes straight to the bag.
  • Nursery wall hoop artHoop a 7 inch on natural cotton twill, frame it, and its a proper nursery focal piece.
  • Denim shirt pocketSmaller 3.5 inch on a chest pocket, cutaway behind, holds up after repeated washing fine.
  • Baby bibThe 4 inch drops onto a bib without crowding it, sits flat with no bunching at the neckline.
  • Fleece blanket cornerFleece needs a topping layer or the satin stitches on the wings sink right into the pile.
  • Hand towel setStitch a matching pair on white terry hand towels, they look like a proper boutique gift set.

About the artist

Reyazul Masud Riham, hand-drawing every design on this site

Every design on Re Embroidery is hand-digitized by one person. Each file gets sketched, color-matched, and stitch-tested on real fabric before it earns a place in the shop. No team. No auto-conversion from images. Just slow, deliberate work, sometimes three or four days per design.

That's the joy I work for.

The hard part is finding my designs re-uploaded and resold elsewhere. So when you buy from Re Embroidery, you're paying one real person for the file you're about to download. That matters.
