The whale is mid-breach here, full body clearing the water like its just showing off. Head points up toward the top right, the long pectoral flippers splay out on both sides, and the tail flukes curl in at the bottom. No shy little outline job here, the body holds alot of colour, electric blue on the dorsal side bleeding down through violet and into a pale lavender belly. Real neon-ocean vibe.

Directional stitching runs along the length of the body so the whale actually looks rounded and 3D, not just a flat shape. The flippers get their own angle too, lighter threads fanning outward to separate em from the body. Around the belly edges theres a white-to-silver fade that gives it that wet-skin glow you see in nature photos. 7 colours total, layered in a way that took me a few attempts to get the density balanced right.

I get alot of messages from coastal gift shop owners about ocean designs, and this one has been one of my favourites to digitise. A buyer last month grabbed the 7.49-inch size for canvas tote bags at a marine sanctuary fundraiser. And honestly I was suprised how clean it stitched at that size, the colour bands held their edges perfectly.

Back it with soft cutaway behind with this one. Even though the maximum tops at only 15k stitches at the largest, the directional fill layers need a solid base or youll see puckering along the fin edges. Try it on navy or dark teal jersey for that deep-sea look, or on a white cotton bag if you want the colours to really pop forward. Skip anything with heavy texture because the detail in the gradient bands gets buried.

Stitch counts run from 5,148 at the 3.5 small build size up to 15,460 at 7.49 inches. Nine sizes total so ya can pick the right fit for whatever youre working on. Holler at me if something looks off in the file and Ill get it sorted.

About the artist

Reyazul Masud Riham, hand-drawing every design on this site

Every design on Re Embroidery is hand-digitized by one person. Each file gets sketched, color-matched, and stitch-tested on real fabric before it earns a place in the shop. No team. No auto-conversion from images. Just slow, deliberate work, sometimes three or four days per design.

That's the joy I work for.

The hard part is finding my designs re-uploaded and resold elsewhere. So when you buy from Re Embroidery, you're paying one real person for the file you're about to download. That matters.
