Pulled this one from my own bookshelf honestly. The phrase says it all: I Like My Books Spicy at the top in curvy script lettering, My Coffee Icy at the bottom, and in between an open book with a skeleton hand rising up from the pages holding an iced drink cup. Four-pointed sparkle stars scattered all around. One colour. All black. Single thread run from start to finish, send your machine on autopilot.

Dont let the single colour fool you, its a big design. Five sizes from 3.5 inches wide by 3 inches tall at the smallest, up to 7.5 by 6.4 inches at the largest. And at 32,976 stitches on that big size, theres a lot of satin letterform and running stitch line detail packed in here. Density is 682 which is moderate, but the typography needs clean underlay or the letters will look muddy. Hoop firm with a good cutaway or tearaway depending on your base fabric. If youre getting skip stitches on the script lettering its almost always a loose hoop or a worn needle.

I get messages about it constantly, mostly from people stitching it onto sweatshirts for themselves or as gifts for book-obsessed friends. One customer last spring stitched the 7.5 inch hoop size on a black sweatshirt and said she recieved more compliments on it than anything else she had ever made. Black thread on black fabric doesnt work, obviously. Best on white, off-white, cream, or any light-coloured base so every detail reads clearly.

Stitch on a canvas tote, a sweatshirt, a bookish tee, or a project bag. Pick your placement carefully on shirts, the design is nearly square at larger sizes so centre it properly on the chest. Use placement tape or a template if youre not confident eyeballing it.

Behind every stitch

About the artist

Reyazul Masud Riham, hand-drawing every design on this site

Every design on Re Embroidery is hand-digitized by one person. Each file gets sketched, color-matched, and stitch-tested on real fabric before it earns a place in the shop. No team. No auto-conversion from images. Just slow, deliberate work, sometimes three or four days per design.

That's the joy I work for.

The hard part is finding my designs re-uploaded and resold elsewhere. So when you buy from Re Embroidery, you're paying one real person for the file you're about to download. That matters.
