And this is where the satin stitching changes things. Unlike pure outline mandalas, this one uses actual filled satin paths inside each petal so the black thread covers the fabric and shapes read as solid forms. Each petal has a double-outline border with fill running between them, which gives every element a crisp defined edge. The inner tiers are small paired teardrop clusters sitting point-to-point, the middle layers open out into longer almond shapes, and the outer ring finishes with narrow pointed petals that have parallel fill lines inside them.

Small detached oval bud forms float at the very perimeter between the main outer petals. Easy to miss at a glance but theyre what make this feel finished and considered rather than just a standard mandala repeat. Its genuinely detailed work, the kind of thing a customer who cares about craft quality notices immediately when they pick up the finished piece.

Seven sizes, 4 inches square up to 10 inches square. Stitch count runs from about 16.5k at the smallest up to 43k at the full 10-inch version. No colour changes, all black, single run start to finish. The lower density compared to outline designs is because filled paths are longer and more efficient, so your machine moves faster than youd expect for something this detailed. Last autumn a customer stitched the 8-inch version on a natural linen cushion and sent me a photo that honestly looked like a screen print from two feet away.

Back the hoop with a double layer of firm woven cutaway behind cotton or linen and keep hoop tension even across the whole frame. Dont skip the second layer of backing even if it feels unnecessary, satin-filled sections need stable support so petals dont pucker when the hoop releases. Use a 75/11 sharp needle for clean entry points on tightly woven fabrics. Hit us in the chat if a size throws an error and well sort it same day.

What people are using this design for

A starting point. The design works for plenty more than just this list, this is what folks have stitched it onto most.

  • Structured throw cushion covers in black and whiteBlack thread on a white or ivory cotton cushion cover gives a bold graphic result that works in any styled interior
  • Wall hoop art for minimalist or Scandinavian-style roomsHang the 8-inch version in a wooden hoop against a white wall and it reads like a printed art piece from across the room
  • Tote bag centre panel for a high-detail statement pieceCentre on a natural canvas tote and the high-density satin fill gives the bag a premium hand-embroidered quality look
  • Napkin and tablecloth corner embroideryStitch a 4-inch version in each corner of a linen napkin set for a cohesive formal table setting
  • Monochrome quilt block insertsFrame individual sizes as quilt block inserts between neutral fabric panels for a graphic monochrome quilt
  • Denim shirt or jacket back embroideryThe 6-inch size sits well on a denim jacket back yoke without needing to stretch into the collar area
  • Fabric jewellery backing for hoop earring framesTiny 4-inch version on stiff cotton backing fabric makes a clean base for embroidered hoop earring blanks

Behind every stitch

About the artist

Reyazul Masud Riham, hand-drawing every design on this site

Every design on Re Embroidery is hand-digitized by one person. Each file gets sketched, color-matched, and stitch-tested on real fabric before it earns a place in the shop. No team. No auto-conversion from images. Just slow, deliberate work, sometimes three or four days per design.

That's the joy I work for.

The hard part is finding my designs re-uploaded and resold elsewhere. So when you buy from Re Embroidery, you're paying one real person for the file you're about to download. That matters.
