One customer ordered a set of trick-or-treat candy bags for her kids class last halloween and specifically asked for a pumpkin on a lollipop stick, something that read like actual candy rather than just another carved face. I had been working on this design for a few weeks by then, so the timing worked out. Its 10487 stitches, six colours, density 150, digitised in Wilcom. The narrow 2.41 by 4.5 inch tall footprint is what makes it different, its long rather than square, so ya get placement options that a standard round pumpkin doesnt give you.

Use cutaway stabiliser on this one. The face carved features are dense near-black satin fills and at density 150 on a narrow 2.41 inch width the hooping tension really matters, any slack and you'll get puckering around the eye cutouts. Run underlay on the orange pumpkin globe first before the top satin layer. Skip the applique method here, full satin is how Ive digitised it, so use a 75/11 needle and let the machine run through the colour stops in sequence. There are six stops including two shadow-orange tones that add depth to the carved cheek areas.

People stitch this one on halloween treat bags, sleeve panels of kids sweaters, trick-or-treat totes, and I've seen it used really nicely as a zipper-pull patch on a small pouch. Run it on black cotton for maximum drama, the orange satin against black reads like a proper halloween piece. Use a stabilised topping film on fleece or terry cloth if youre doing halloween towels. On woven cotton the satin fills come out sharp and clean without any extra prep beyond a firm hoop and a good cutaway base underneath.

About the artist

Reyazul Masud Riham, hand-drawing every design on this site

Every design on Re Embroidery is hand-digitized by one person. Each file gets sketched, color-matched, and stitch-tested on real fabric before it earns a place in the shop. No team. No auto-conversion from images. Just slow, deliberate work, sometimes three or four days per design.

That's the joy I work for.

The hard part is finding my designs re-uploaded and resold elsewhere. So when you buy from Re Embroidery, you're paying one real person for the file you're about to download. That matters.
