Worked this one up for the Nightmare Before Christmas crowd who wanted something that read clearly as Jack without being a direct licensed copy. Its an elongated skull face, bone white, with hollow black oval eye sockets and that iconic wide segmented smile where each tooth block is separated by a black gap. The chin tapers to a sharp point. Theres a subtle lavender shadow wash on the cheekbones that gives the face actual contour instead of just being a flat white shape.
3 sizes only on this one: 3.46 inch wide, 3.99 inch, and 4.71 inch, heights run 5.51 to 7.51 inch so its a tall narrow design. Stitch counts from 23,303 to 32,169 and a density of 909 so the bone white fills are very solid and opaque, important on dark fabrics. Charcoal hoodie or black canvas tote is where this reads best. Use cutaway stabiliser, dont even consider tearaway at this density level. If youre putting this on a thick fleece or sherpa, use water-soluble topping so the white stitches sit on top and dont get buried in the pile.
I get messages every halloween season asking about this one, people wanting it for matching hoodie and tote sets. Pick the 4.71-inch for anything worn as a garment, the 3.46-inch for smaller accessories like a beanie or cap brim where the detail still holds at that scale. Best runs Ive seen are on charcoal grey, that pale skull colour really pops against charcoal compared to jet black where the contrast is a lil flatter.
What people are using this design for
A starting point. The design works for plenty more than just this list, this is what folks have stitched it onto most.
- Charcoal or black hoodie chest or back panelThe 4.71-inch on a charcoal hoodie chest reads clearly from several feet away, bone white on dark grey is a strong contrast.
- Black canvas tote bag for a movie night bagStitch the 4-inch on a black canvas tote for a movie fan bag that works for Halloween and all year round.
- Halloween beanie hat or knit capThe 3.46-inch smallest size fits a beanie crown without crowding, the elongated face still reads at that scale.
- Nightmare Before Christmas fan gift itemFrame as a gift for a Nightmare Before Christmas fan who also sews or crafts, ships flat in a padded envelope.
- Dark denim jacket back placementPlace the 4.71-inch across the upper back of a dark denim jacket, looks hand-customised in a way iron-on patches dont.
- Kids Halloween costume hoodie personalisationPersonalise a kids halloween costume hoodie with the 3-inch chest placement for a character look.
- Gothic wall art framed hoop pieceMount the 4-inch in a large black embroidery hoop as wall art for a gothic bedroom or studio space.

About the artist
Reyazul Masud Riham, hand-drawing every design on this site
Every design on Re Embroidery is hand-digitized by one person. Each file gets sketched, color-matched, and stitch-tested on real fabric before it earns a place in the shop. No team. No auto-conversion from images. Just slow, deliberate work, sometimes three or four days per design.
That's the joy I work for.
The hard part is finding my designs re-uploaded and resold elsewhere. So when you buy from Re Embroidery, you're paying one real person for the file you're about to download. That matters.
