Pulled this five-word christmas tower together for charcoal canvas because the 3-colour rotation -- ivory, crimson, and sage -- reads really really well against dark fabric. Its not a tree, its not a scene, its just five christmas words stacked tall: joy, love, noel, peace, believe. Each word uses its own character weight so the column has visual rhythm. At 7.51 inches tall its a proper statement piece for a pillow front or a large canvas bag.

Three thread colours with 5 sizes from 3.51 inches wide up to 7.51 inches, stitch range 9,032 to 18,951. The density is 421 stitches per square centimetre at the largest size. Wilcom EmbroideryStudio handled satin columns on each letter with a light underlay pass so the ivory doesnt absorb into the charcoal fabric. Digitising stacked word art like this is trickier than it looks -- each letter block needs its own density calibration or the heavier words will sink and the lighter ones will float. The spacing between words uses tiny running stitch dividers that hold registration through all 5 colour changes.

Use a medium cutaway stabiliser on canvas. Hoop flat and firm -- any canvas relaxation mid-run will drift the bottom words out of vertical alignment. Ive seen this happen on cheap single-layer canvas; go for 12oz or heavier canvas duck for the best result. One customer hooped the 5.5-inch on a charcoal zip pouch in early december and the crimson noel row against the charcoal was basically all you needed for a christmas gift without any wrapping.

Stitch the kinda oversized 7.5-inch on a cushion cover front, use the mid size on a tote, or run the small version on a wine bag. Add it to dark felt for a quick Christmas hoop ornament. Skip pale or ivory fabrics -- the 3-colour rotation needs a dark backdrop to land properly.

What people are using this design for

A starting point. The design works for plenty more than just this list, this is what folks have stitched it onto most.

  • Charcoal or dark canvas throw pillow coversThe ivory-crimson-sage rotation on charcoal canvas makes a bold cushion front without needing any tree or star graphic.
  • Christmas tote bags or shopping bags for winter marketsStitch the 5.5-inch centred on a dark canvas tote for a winter market bag that reads festive without being juvenile.
  • Dark zip pouches as holiday stocking stuffersPop the 3.5-inch on a dark zip pouch stuffed with chocolates or gift card -- simple and effective.
  • Felt Christmas hoop ornaments for tree or wreathCut a circle of dark felt, hoop it, and stitch the small version for a fabric Christmas tree ornament.
  • Wine bag or bottle gift covers for holiday entertainingRun the mid size on a felt wine bag or bottle cover as a reusable festive gift wrap alternative.

About the artist

Reyazul Masud Riham, hand-drawing every design on this site

Every design on Re Embroidery is hand-digitized by one person. Each file gets sketched, color-matched, and stitch-tested on real fabric before it earns a place in the shop. No team. No auto-conversion from images. Just slow, deliberate work, sometimes three or four days per design.

That's the joy I work for.

The hard part is finding my designs re-uploaded and resold elsewhere. So when you buy from Re Embroidery, you're paying one real person for the file you're about to download. That matters.
