This dolphin has real energy to it. The body arcs up mid-leap with the tail still trailing below the splash line, and the water effect underneath is rendered in layered splashing shapes rather than a flat wave. The colour treatment goes for that sunset-over-water feel, warm oranges and golds in the background or splash zone contrasting with the cool blue-grey of the dolphin body. Its dynamic and it reads immediately even on a small placement. A good one for anyone who spends a lot of time near water or just really loves dolphins.

The splash water effect has layered fill so tearaway on woven fabric is fine, go with cutaway on any stretch base like a swim rashguard or jersey. Density is medium, keeps the water splash readable without making the background area stiff. Hoop firmly and the arc of the dolphin body will stitch out with the curve clarity it needs.
Left chest on a beach or summer top is the natural home. A customer had this done on a kids rash guard for a beach holiday and it was one of those projects where the kid refused to take it off. Also works on a tote panel for a beach bag, the wide horizontal layout fills a front panel really naturally. Canvas pouches for a marine biology student or ocean enthusiast make a nice gift application too. At the larger sizes it works as a back placement on a lightweight summer jacket.
