Tear-away is fine for canvas and woven linen. Stitch on natural linen, oat cotton, off-white canvas or pale sage for the best colour reading. Skip dark navy or black, the brown shelf lines vanish and the pastel tools lose all contrast. Use wash-away stabiliser on top if youre working on terry or waffle weave, keeps those fine wire stitches from sinking into the pile.
