Theres something about this kitten design that gets people. Its the paw. The little front paw lifted up reaching toward the butterfly, its just really really endearing. The kitten is fluffy, long-haired, sitting back on its haunches, and all that fur is done with dense directional stitching so each stroke of grey thread actually reads like fur. Not just a textured blob. Actual fur direction.
The whole design runs in just 2 colours, grey and black, but theres alot of tonal depth in there because Wilcom layered the grey density carefully. Pale grey on the chest and belly, charcoal on the back and ears, near-black at the deepest shadow points. The butterfly above is big and detailed, wings spread, a second smaller butterfly sits off to the left side, and theres a little flower cluster near the bottom right paw.
5 sizes from 3.15 inches up to 7.5 inches, with 20k stitches at the small end and 38k on the biggest. For a 2 colour design thats alot of thread work. Use a medium tearaway on woven cotton or linen, and switch to cutaway stabiliser if youre going on a jersey tee or knit fabric. Add water-soluble topping if your ground fabric has any texture or pile to it. Avoid pulling the hoop too tight on the smaller sizes or the kitten body distorts.
I get messages from cat shelter volunteers and rescue organisations about this one pretty regularly. One customer in march messaged me saying she stitched it onto tote bags for a fundraiser at her local cat shelter in Auckland and sold out every single one. Send me message if anything goes sideways with the download or the file doesnt open right.

About the artist
Reyazul Masud Riham, hand-drawing every design on this site
Every design on Re Embroidery is hand-digitized by one person. Each file gets sketched, color-matched, and stitch-tested on real fabric before it earns a place in the shop. No team. No auto-conversion from images. Just slow, deliberate work, sometimes three or four days per design.
That's the joy I work for.
The hard part is finding my designs re-uploaded and resold elsewhere. So when you buy from Re Embroidery, you're paying one real person for the file you're about to download. That matters.
