The kitten sits right on top of the wound-up sphere like it owns the place. Grey tabby markings on the face with fine black stripe lines running from the nose up over the forehead, two little triangular ears with pink insides and massive blue eyes that take up way more space than is realy realistic. Tiny pink nose, white chest fur peeking out. The orange and rust half below is the warmer section of the design, burnt orange base with a spiral rust red stripe running around the whole circumference, kinda like a globe with latitude lines.

14 colours, widest in this set. Sizes run landscape-ish, widest at 7.51 inches and tallest at 5.61 inches. That means it suits patches, chest placements and tote bag sides better than tall vertical hoops. Smallest is 3.51 by 2.62 inches at 36,897 stitches, biggest at 88,229 stitches. The density at 2,094 is the highest in my group, the round-sphere fill is packed dense to show the spiral clearly and the fur on the kittens face is tight satin work with underlay beneath it.

I made this one primarily for knitters and crocheters. The big round of wool is the inside joke for anyone who actually knits, your cat stealing it is basically universal. I get alot of orders from crafters who want it on their project bags or knitting totes. One customer last october stitched it on six bags for her knitting circle group and sent me the photo, all six different fabric colours and it worked on every one of them. She said her group couldnt stop laughing when they saw them.

Cream, white, pale sage and navy all work nicely. That warm orange contrasts against cool fabric colours well. Avoid orange or rust fabric because the lower half disappears into the background and youre left with just a floating kitten head. Pop the wide design on a tote bag side, a project bag front or a flat clutch pouch. Its also kinda perfect on a knitting needle case or craft apron pocket.

Highest density design in this group so Back it with poly-mesh under no matter what fabric you choose, even stable woven cotton. The spiral section needs hoop tension held throughout or the lines blur and merge. Hoop snug. Use a stabiliser topping over terry or fleece to stop the satin stitches sinking into the pile. Reach out if the download doesnt include all 8 formats and Ill check your order straight away.

What people are using this design for

A starting point. The design works for plenty more than just this list, this is what folks have stitched it onto most.

  • Craft supply pouches and yarn bowlsMy sister asked for the six-bag set for her knitting circle group, different base fabric per bag, every single one worked.
  • Cat lover gift bags and accessoriesWide-mouth zip pouch for yarn notions, stitch markers and cable needles, the landscape format suits a flat pouch better than a tall one.

  • Craft apron pocket embroideryNavy canvas tote for a cat-lover who doesnt knit but appreciates the comedy of the yarn ball situation.
  • Pet-themed cushion for a cat owners homeCraft room apron bib pocket at 3.5 across. The sewing-studio gift angle makes it useful rather than just decorative.

About the artist

Reyazul Masud Riham, hand-drawing every design on this site

Every design on Re Embroidery is hand-digitized by one person. Each file gets sketched, color-matched, and stitch-tested on real fabric before it earns a place in the shop. No team. No auto-conversion from images. Just slow, deliberate work, sometimes three or four days per design.

That's the joy I work for.

The hard part is finding my designs re-uploaded and resold elsewhere. So when you buy from Re Embroidery, you're paying one real person for the file you're about to download. That matters.
