The ladybug here is kinda huge, filling most of the design space, body in a rich deep red with large oval black spots. Six legs in bright lime green extend out at angles, which is unexpected but it pops really well against the body. The head is black with small antenna lines stitched in. Shell has a clear centre dividing line down the back with the spot placement sitting naturally either side.

The interesting bit is a floral cluster growing right out of the top right corner of the shell. A dark crimson flower sits at the centre, petals rendered individually with radial satin fills so each one has direction and depth. Behind and round it are teal-green botanical leaves, the jagged serrated kind you see on wild plants, fanning out to the right. Small round berry stems thread through the leaves as well. The combination of the shiny red shell and that dark moody flower is what makes this one different from your usual ladybug stitch.

Seven colours total so plan on stopping the machine 7 times to swap threads. Stitch count goes up to 42k on the largest size, 7.5 by 7.43 inches. Density is 771 stitches per square inch, medium-heavy, so use a medium cutaway or firm tearaway depending on your fabric. Pick a white, cream, pale sage or soft grey background and the palette really sings. Avoid busy prints, the floral cluster detail gets lost against pattern fabric.

Float a topping layer on pique or textured cotton so the small leg and antenna detail stitches dont sink into the weave. One customer who teaches a kids gardening group reordered last month for the 5-inch on cream cotton aprons. She said the ladybug was the unanimous pick from her students. Stitch the antenna lines slowly if your machine lets you adjust speed on fine detail passes. Reach me if the flower petals bunch on your particular fabric and Ill tighten the satin run.

About the artist

Reyazul Masud Riham, hand-drawing every design on this site

Every design on Re Embroidery is hand-digitized by one person. Each file gets sketched, color-matched, and stitch-tested on real fabric before it earns a place in the shop. No team. No auto-conversion from images. Just slow, deliberate work, sometimes three or four days per design.

That's the joy I work for.

The hard part is finding my designs re-uploaded and resold elsewhere. So when you buy from Re Embroidery, you're paying one real person for the file you're about to download. That matters.
