Spring and garden designs are a steady seller all year round, not just in april. This ladybug and floral wreath has been a favourite in the shop since I listed it. Four colours, five sizes from 3.5 to 7.51 inches wide, stitch counts 9,771 at the smallest and 26,693 at the largest. Density at 478 is light enough that the finished piece stays soft -- good for items that get washed regularly like tea towels or aprons. After listing it a customer ordered it on a linen napkin set last spring and sent me a photo of the full table setting with all four napkins done. It looked suprised me how good matching repeats look on a table, and honestly I hadnt expected the wreath to read so well at the 4 inch repeat size.
Four colour changes in the run. The flowers use short satin petals with a directional fill that changes angle slightly between petals to give them a rounded look. The ladybug shell is a satin fill with spot markers in a darker applique-style placement -- nice and crisp at even the 3.5 inch size. Use a tearaway stabiliser on stable woven cotton or linen, cutaway on anything stretchy. Hooped properly with the grain square the wreath circle comes out even on both axes -- dont skip squaring the hoop, it matters with a circular motif.
The 5 inch size works well on a standard tote front or a cushion panel. Small gift projects like sachet bags or ribbon bookmarks suit the 3.5 inch. Stitch in pastel colours for a soft nursery look or bump up the saturation for a bold garden party vibe. Theres enough colour zones to customise the palette if you want to match a specific room or event colour scheme.
Works on tote bags, linen aprons, napkin sets, tea towels, small cushions, spring wreath hoops for the wall, and kids room decor. Pair it with the 5.5 inch size on a matching apron and tote set for a spring gift bundle. Best on medium-weight woven fabrics in light or natural base tones where the colour palette shows up clearly. Youll get the cleanest results on close-weave linen or cotton rather than loose-weave or textured fabric.
