Ive been really pleased with how this one stitches out. Its a stack of hearts layered on top of each other at slightly different angles, each one a different shade of pink or red so every layer reads as distinct. The largest heart sits at the bottom, progressively smaller ones stack up and forward, offset just enough to give the whole thing a sense of depth. Its the kind of design that photographs beautifully because of that dimensional quality.

Four colour design, the shading runs through a pale blush, warm pink, coral and deep red, cycling through from outer to inner layer. Stitch count starts at 12,630 for the 3.5 inch size and goes up to 38,230 at 7.5 inches. Five sizes total and density sits at 975, so its a substantial stitch-out, especially at the bigger sizes. Theres alot of satin fill layered in close proximity so proper stabilising is essential.

And I cant overstate how popular this one is with people doing valentines day shop displays and custom shirt runs. One customer ordered 8 custom shirts in february using this design, all in different colourways, she said her customers kept coming back for more. The layered look translates really well to light-coloured garments.

But do use a cutaway stabiliser for this one, the density at the top layers especially will cause puckering without it. Stitch order matters too, the bottom layer stitches first and each subsequent layer goes on top, which is how the file is sequenced. Skip loose weaves or mesh fabrics. Pair it with white, cream, or light grey jersey for best colour contrast.

What people are using this design for

A starting point. The design works for plenty more than just this list, this is what folks have stitched it onto most.

  • Bold valentines day gift shirtsCentred on a white or cream cotton tee the layered colour effect shows up boldly and photographs well for social posts.
  • Romantic anniversary cushion coversA medium size on a plain white pillow cover makes a strong romantic accent piece for bedroom decor.
  • Shop display or market stall apparelWorks well for small-batch custom shirt orders because the 4-colour palette reads as premium and intentional.
  • Custom valentines order batchesStitched on a light canvas tote the stacked hearts give a bold graphic look that works beyond just valentines season.
  • Statement bedroom pillow accentsThe large size on a plain throw cushion creates a strong centred design that anchors the fabric without needing anything else.
  • Layered valentine canvas tote bagsPop it on a cream linen napkin or table runner for a valentines table setting that feels polished and adult.

About the artist

Reyazul Masud Riham, hand-drawing every design on this site

Every design on Re Embroidery is hand-digitized by one person. Each file gets sketched, color-matched, and stitch-tested on real fabric before it earns a place in the shop. No team. No auto-conversion from images. Just slow, deliberate work, sometimes three or four days per design.

That's the joy I work for.

The hard part is finding my designs re-uploaded and resold elsewhere. So when you buy from Re Embroidery, you're paying one real person for the file you're about to download. That matters.
