Its a sunflower but the center is all leopard print, and that combo works way better than it sounds. The petals are broad satin-stitched orange, fanning out the way a sunflower should. But where you'd normally get a plain seed-head, theres a tight cluster of irregular black spots layered over the center fill, giving it that wild-animal-print texture. Alot of people don't realise how well nature themes mix with animal prints until they stitch one out.
Wilcom EmbroideryStudio handled the spot shapes with directional satin runs inside each blob, so they dont just look painted on. The petals use a radial underlay before the satin layer, which keeps them flat even on stretchy fabric without needing a topping. Hoop a medium cutaway stabiliser underneath and youre good on most materials.
5 sizes run from 1.38 inches up to 5.04 inches wide. The smallest clocks in at 4,724 stitches and the largest at 16,745. A customer last spring sewed the 3 inch version onto a summer tote and said the spots popped so clearly she got questions about it at the farmers market. That size sits right in the sweet spot for bags and shirt pockets. Use a 75/11 needle for lighter fabrics and bump to 90/14 for denim or canvas. Add your bobbin tension first before running any test piece, its worth the extra minute.

What people are using this design for
A starting point. The design works for plenty more than just this list, this is what folks have stitched it onto most.
- Summer tote bags and canvas pouchesThe orange-and-black contrast pops on natural canvas without any backing showing through
- Pocket detail on linen shirts and blousesThe 1.38 inch size fits a standard chest pocket with room to spare
- Kids backpack front panelBright enough to catch a kids eye, tough enough on cutaway to last through machine washing
- Sunflower-themed kitchen towelsHemmed edge towels absorb the tension well, hoop with medium cutaway and wash before gifting
- Denim jacket back yoke accentDenim takes the satin petals beautifully, pre-wash the jacket so it doesnt shrink after stitching

About the artist
Reyazul Masud Riham, hand-drawing every design on this site
Every design on Re Embroidery is hand-digitized by one person. Each file gets sketched, color-matched, and stitch-tested on real fabric before it earns a place in the shop. No team. No auto-conversion from images. Just slow, deliberate work, sometimes three or four days per design.
That's the joy I work for.
The hard part is finding my designs re-uploaded and resold elsewhere. So when you buy from Re Embroidery, you're paying one real person for the file you're about to download. That matters.
