Stitched this one up for the kind of person who has a pet and wants something more than a plain paw print but doesnt want to go fully realistic either. The paw shape is a standard front paw outline, large main pad plus the four toe pads above it. What makes it different is whats inside. The base fill runs as a 6-colour rainbow gradient across the whole paw from the heel up through the toe tips, then the black leopard spots sit on top of that gradient base like a second layer. So youre looking at rainbow underneath and leopard pattern on top at the same time.
4 colour changes in the sequence but the effect reads like 6 because the gradient blends across all pad sections in a single pass. Density is 1,041 per square inch, thats genuinely high so ya need proper cutaway stabiliser on this one, medium weight wont be enough for the toe areas. Run the 3.5-inch size onto a cream tee with heavy cutaway and the spots stay crisp. Use a size 80/12 needle and keep the bobbin tension consistent. Dont let the toe pads go loose in the hoop, that part pulls more than the heel area does.
5 sizes from 2.52 to 5.4 inches wide and 3.51 to 7.51 inches tall. Its taller than it is wide which makes it a nice vertical panel piece. One customer stitched the 5-inch run on a cream tote bag front last week and said the rainbow-through-leopard combination was realy something different from anything else they'd seen. Stitch count runs 16,669 to 42,199 so block out time for the large size on a slower machine.
