Its just the snowman's face from roughly the eye level up, framed by two bare antler branches coming off the sides like he grew them himself. The antler shapes are brown satin with short forked twig tips, the sort of thing youd see on a reindeer but on a snowman it reads a bit odd in the best way. Black coal buttons curve into a smile along the bottom of the piece and an orange carrot sticks out to one side. Blue snowflake accents sit in the space around the face, not perfectly symmetrical, just scattered. The words let it snow are written in a chunky brush-script across the middle in black, the kind of lettering that looks hand-done rather than printed.

My mum stitched this on a set of fleece blankets she made as Christmas gifts last year. She did the 5-inch version and said it ran through smoothly on medium cutaway, the brush-script lettering held clean even on the fleece pile. Run a layer of water-soluble topping on fleece or any textured fabric before you hoop it, it stops the script sinking into the pile. Thats the main thing to get right with this design honestly, the lettering needs a clean surface to stitch into or the edges go soft.

4 colours with 3 changes in the sequence. Sky blue goes first for the snowflakes and bauble accents, then brown for the antler branches, then black handles the smile, the lettering and all the outline work. Orange comes in last for the short nose section, dont do it before the outline thread or it risks getting buried. Use a fresh needle for the black section, thats the heaviest thread count in the file and the letterforms have a lot of direction changes. Check your bobbin level too before that last pass, it uses more thread than you'd expect. 5 sizes from 2.81 to 6.03 inches wide, stitch counts from 9,046 to 19,187. Density sits at 424 so the run time is quite manageable even at the larger sizes.

What people are using this design for

A starting point. The design works for plenty more than just this list, this is what folks have stitched it onto most.

  • Fleece blanket or throw for a Christmas giftAt 5-6 inches on a fleece throw the brush-script reads clearly from a sofa armchair distance.
  • Winter sweatshirt or hoodie chest placementChest placement on a sweatshirt at 4 inches, blue snowflakes show well on grey or white fabric.
  • Kids Christmas pyjama front or pocketThe 3-inch size fits a pyjama front chest panel for kids without covering too much of the garment.
  • Festive tote or zip pouchOn a zip pouch or tote at 3-4 inches the antler branches frame the face and give it real character.
  • Christmas cushion or pillow coverA cushion at 5 inches in the centre front makes a good snowman feature piece for a Christmas couch setup.
  • Tea towel or kitchen linen setStitched in one corner of a white cotton tea towel with blue thread for the snowflake accents it stays understated.
  • Framed hoop art for winter home decorFramed in a round hoop at 4-5 inches with natural linen it works as a seasonal wall piece without being too busy.

About the artist

Reyazul Masud Riham, hand-drawing every design on this site

Every design on Re Embroidery is hand-digitized by one person. Each file gets sketched, color-matched, and stitch-tested on real fabric before it earns a place in the shop. No team. No auto-conversion from images. Just slow, deliberate work, sometimes three or four days per design.

That's the joy I work for.

The hard part is finding my designs re-uploaded and resold elsewhere. So when you buy from Re Embroidery, you're paying one real person for the file you're about to download. That matters.
