Life is better with dogs, 3 sizes 5 to 7 inch, all black thread. This is the type-heavy canine design where the big chunky letters take up most of the real estate. The top line is this really really lightweight cursive script done in an italic hand-lettered style. Then below it the letters hit wide and tall with paw prints dotted throughout the insides of each letter. Its kind of just one of those that reads from across a room, ya know.
Im gonna be honest, when I first digitising this one last autumn I wasnt sure the paw detail inside each letter would hold at small sizes but it works fine down to 5 inch. Stitch range 13,521 to 21,069. Single colour, 0 colour changes. The 7 inch version uses around 78 feet of bobbin thread so check before you start.
A customer wrote me last week saying she put this on a hoodie as a dog mom birthday gift and the recipient cried. Use a midweight tearaway, the dense satin in those tall letters needs the support. Stitch on white, cream, or light grey cotton for the cleanest look. Black on denim works well too if you want something rougher looking. I ran a test on a 12oz canvas tote earlier this month and the tatami fills sat flat without any puckering.
