So heres the thing about this design. Life Is sits up top in that loose red sketchy cursive, then the word short hits you in chunky black block letters with a lil red fork on the left and a red spoon on the right standing guard. lick the runs across the next row back in that red script, and the word spoon closes it out in bold black block lettering with black arrow brackets pointing inwards. Theres a row of tiny red hearts and dots between rows too, which is what gives the whole thing its baking-humor charm.

Two colours only, red thread and black thread. One colour change in the machine and youre done, no fiddly bobbin swaps mid-run. Stitch counts go from 8,227 at the smallest 3.5-inch width up to 18,789 at the largest 7.5-inch. Density sits at 423 which is reasonable for a quote this size, though the chunky block letters carry alot of the stitch load, so dont skimp on the cutaway. I digitised this in Wilcom EmbroideryStudio with proper directional satin underlay on the red script columns, that keeps the cursive from looking wobbly on textured aprons.

A customer ordered the 5-inch size last month for a set of matching aprons for her sisters bridal shower, she said it got the loudest laugh of the night. She stitched them on cream cotton twill with a medium cutaway and the colour pop was perfect for photos.

Best on cream, oatmeal, light grey, or natural linen. Skip dark navy unless you swap the black for white thread. Pop a layer of tearaway under any waffle weave or terry kitchen towel, the satin columns need a firm hooped base to register clean. Run the largest size on the chest of an apron, the smallest works on tea towels and oven mitts. And avoid stretchy jersey, the script edges will distort on knit fabric.

Holler if youve got any trouble loading the file on your machine, send me a quick note and Ill rework the file for your software.

About the artist

Reyazul Masud Riham, hand-drawing every design on this site

Every design on Re Embroidery is hand-digitized by one person. Each file gets sketched, color-matched, and stitch-tested on real fabric before it earns a place in the shop. No team. No auto-conversion from images. Just slow, deliberate work, sometimes three or four days per design.

That's the joy I work for.

The hard part is finding my designs re-uploaded and resold elsewhere. So when you buy from Re Embroidery, you're paying one real person for the file you're about to download. That matters.
