The concept here is the ghost sitting inside the pumpkin rather than beside it. You get this tall narrow composition where most of what you see is the big bold orange jack-o-lantern and the lil ghost is just visible peeking out from the carved opening at the top. Its actually a really clever take on the ghost-pumpkin pairing that I havent seen done this way much.

Five colours, 4 colour changes. Simple palette, orange body, white ghost, two grey tones, black satin outline. The pumpkin face is bold with angular triangular eyes and an asymmetric jagged grin, which gives it more personality than a standard carved face. Run this on a medium tear-away stabiliser on woven fabrics, the density is 975 and the stitch count tops out at 13,102 at the 4-inch size so its not a heavy fill. One customer asked about it and tiny 2 inch sit-down lands clean on a left-chest baby tee, she confirmed it stitched out no issues. Pick the 3-inch file for shirt pockets, the proportions land right at that scale. Use a water-soluble topping if youre stitching on anything with a nap or visible texture.

Three sizes: 2, 3, and 4 inch. Stitch range 5,755 to 13,102. Digitised in Wilcom EmbroideryStudio. The tall portrait orientation suits things like the front of a small purse, the chest pocket area of a shirt, or patches where horizontal space is limited. The 5-colour palette keeps thread changes to a minimum, which is handy when youre running a small batch of halloween items in october and dont want to rethread constantly.

What people are using this design for

A starting point. The design works for plenty more than just this list, this is what folks have stitched it onto most.

  • Halloween headbands and fabric hair accessoriesThe 2-inch size and tall narrow shape fit headband fabric strips without spilling over the edges.
  • Chest pocket embroidery on shirtsThe slim profile matches the narrow chest pocket zone on a classic oxford or flannel shirt.
  • Small zippered purses and wristletsPortrait orientation suits the face panel of a small wristlet where a wide design would crop.
  • Trick-or-treat bags as a secondary accent patchWorks as a secondary accent patch on a bag that already has a larger main design, no competition for space.
  • Iron-on fabric patches for denimOn denim the 5-colour palette stays clean and the black satin outline pops against indigo fabric.
  • Kids halloween costume accessoriesSmall scale and contained outline shape make it easy to hoop alongside costume accessories on knit fabric.
  • Bookmark fabric strips for halloween readersAt 2 inches the design fits a standard bookmark width with a couple of millimetres margin on each side.

About the artist

Reyazul Masud Riham, hand-drawing every design on this site

Every design on Re Embroidery is hand-digitized by one person. Each file gets sketched, color-matched, and stitch-tested on real fabric before it earns a place in the shop. No team. No auto-conversion from images. Just slow, deliberate work, sometimes three or four days per design.

That's the joy I work for.

The hard part is finding my designs re-uploaded and resold elsewhere. So when you buy from Re Embroidery, you're paying one real person for the file you're about to download. That matters.
