This is the little miss character done up for valentines day, she has that round chunky body, the big oversized bow on top, rosy heart-shaped cheeks, and a dress covered in hearts. Very much that round-character picture-book aesthetic redrawn for embroidery, the proportions are exaggerated the way they are in the books, everything is bold and round and immediately legible even at a few feet distance.

Seven colours in this one, the most Ive had in a kids valentine design, and its the colour count that gives it that finished polished look. Stitch count runs from 20,443 at 3.5 inches up to 46,755 at the full 7.5 inch size, five sizes total. Density is 866 which means youre dealing with a proper dense fill, the character needs it to look solid rather than patchy. There are several underlay layers built in so each colour section lies flat without gapping or show-through.

I cant count how many mums have ordered this one for school valentines day parties, it comes up every january like clockwork. One customer send me a message saying her daughter saw the shirt and refused to take it off for three days, which honestly is the best feedback I get for the kids designs. The bow especially gets a reaction from little girls.

Use a cutaway stabiliser on any knit or stretch fabric, and on woven cotton too for this stitch count. Hoop stable, stitch slow on the face details, the small features around the eyes and cheeks need a steady pace. Pair it with white, cream or pale pink fabric so the 7 colours pop rather than compete with a dark base.

About the artist

Reyazul Masud Riham, hand-drawing every design on this site

Every design on Re Embroidery is hand-digitized by one person. Each file gets sketched, color-matched, and stitch-tested on real fabric before it earns a place in the shop. No team. No auto-conversion from images. Just slow, deliberate work, sometimes three or four days per design.

That's the joy I work for.

The hard part is finding my designs re-uploaded and resold elsewhere. So when you buy from Re Embroidery, you're paying one real person for the file you're about to download. That matters.
