Knocked out a 6 colour valentine gnome design, the classic gnome shape with a tall pointed hat decorated with hearts, a big fluffy beard filling most of the design area, and just a little round nose and small feet visible. The hat is where most of the colour detail lives, red or pink ground with white hearts stitched into it. Six colours total, 5 sizes from 3.08 to 6.58 inches wide.
Stitch count runs from 19,984 at the smallest size up to 66,388 at 6.58 inches wide. Density is 1,342 which is high, its genuinely one of the heavier designs in this range. The beard sections are dense fill work that builds up the fluffy texture, and the hat has multiple colour layers on top of each other. Check your bobbin level before you start and plan for a longer run time.
In the past year or so gnome valentines day designs have just taken off and Ive been suprised by how many people order them, honestly occured to me later I should have made this one earlier. A customer wrote me last January asking for an extra large version for a wall hoop and we sorted it out together.
Use a heavy cutaway stabiliser on this one, the density demands it on any fabric type. Stitch it on cotton or canvas for best results, dont try this on texture or pile fabric since the dense fills need a smooth flat surface to sit properly. Pick a clean fabric colour that contrasts with the red hat for maximum impact.
