Lips bent into a heart shape, 3.51 inches at the smallest and 7.51 across at the biggest. Its 2 colours, deep red for the satin fill and a dark outline that defines the lip edges and the heart silhouette simultaneously. Stitch counts go from 11,918 up to 31,970 depending on the size, and the density of 568 keeps the satin areas smooth without feeling over-packed. The clever bit is that the lips read as lips and as a heart at the same time, so the design works on pieces where you dont want to be too obvious about the valentines theme.

Tape a soft poly backer on wovens and youre ready to hoop. On stretchy cotton jersey or knit fabric, go firmer on the stabiliser and back the satin sections with a topping so the stitch density doesnt sink into the pile. Ive run this on a black cotton fitted tee at the 5 inch placement, the red satin really glows against a dark ground. The 2 colour build is fast, maybe 20-25 minutes on a standard machine depending on speed.

A customer wrote me last valentines asking if she could use this on lingerie fabric. I told her yes but use a very lightweight tearaway and keep the stabiliser minimal. She came back saying it looked brilliant on a silk-blend pyjama pocket. So there's possibilities here beyond the usual cotton and denim crowd. Stitch it on a canvas pouch for a lipstick case, on a tote for a bold graphic bag, or on a shirt pocket for something understated.

Pick a rich thread, Im talking full satin-sheen polyester, to get the most from the gloss lip look. Use a dark ground fabric and the red pops immediately. Add it to a linen apron front panel for market sellers or gift makers. Skip heavily textured grounds like bouclé where the satin stitch cant lay flat and ends up looking lumpy.

About the artist

Reyazul Masud Riham, hand-drawing every design on this site

Every design on Re Embroidery is hand-digitized by one person. Each file gets sketched, color-matched, and stitch-tested on real fabric before it earns a place in the shop. No team. No auto-conversion from images. Just slow, deliberate work, sometimes three or four days per design.

That's the joy I work for.

The hard part is finding my designs re-uploaded and resold elsewhere. So when you buy from Re Embroidery, you're paying one real person for the file you're about to download. That matters.
