The word love is written in proper flowing cursive, the kind with the tall capital L that sweeps down into the lowercase letters, and then right where the letter O should be theres a sketchy heart drawn in a rougher hand-drawn style. Not a clean geometric heart, more like the kind you'd scribble in the margin of a notebook. The contrast between the polished script and the rough heart is what gives this design character. Three colours total: the main script in black, the heart in red, and a blush fill behind the whole thing if you want that layered look.

Stitch count runs from 5,921 at the smallest 2.4-inch size up to 14,333 at the full 5.2-inch wide version. Its not a big design by width standards but it makes up for that in height at 7.5 inches tall, so the letterforms have room to breathe and the descending strokes on the script dont get cramped. Density sits at 369, which means the satin fill on the script strokes has a bit of sheen without feeling stiff underneath. Use heavyweight cutaway on woven and cutaway on anything stretchy, the script letter joins are narrow enough that stretch fabric can distort them without proper backing.

Customers keep buying this for personalised gift cushions and they order it year round, not only in february. A customer told me last christmas she used this on a small white canvas zip pouch as a stocking gift, and youre right to be suprised that a valentine design works that well in december, but it does because the 3-colour palette is flexible enough. I get orders for this in july too from people making wedding anniversary gifts. Stitch on oatmeal weave cotton for the sharpest result, the black script pops hardest on pale fabric and the red heart needs a light ground to read as warm rather than dark.

Go with the 2.4-inch for small accessories and labels, the 3.5-inch for tote bags and gift pouches, and the 5-inch for cushion fronts. The script stitching stays clean at every size because the directional satin in each letter stroke follows the angle of the letterform rather than running uniform horizontal.

What people are using this design for

A starting point. The design works for plenty more than just this list, this is what folks have stitched it onto most.

  • Valentine's Day cushion personalised giftWhite cotton cushion at 5 inches: the black script and sketchy red heart pair reads from sofa-viewing distance without needing to be big or bold
  • White zip pouch stocking fillerStocking filler canvas zip pouch at chest 3.5. The three-colour palette feels considered enough that the pouch itself becomes a gift rather than packaging
  • Canvas tote bag for a romantic giftWedding favour pouch at 3.5 inches with initials chain stitched below: the love script reads as intentional bridal decor rather than valentine decoration
  • Framed hoop bedroom wall artHat crown panel at a mid-size on a structured cotton hat: tall and narrow works with hat proportions the way wide designs never quite do
  • Small gift tag or label patchRound bedroom wall hoop at 5 inches, the tall letter proportion fills the circle without needing border stitching or background fill
  • Wedding keepsake favour itemSmall woven label or jacket patch at 2.4 inches, the design works as an accent detail on a cuff or collar point because the density holds that tiny

About the artist

Reyazul Masud Riham, hand-drawing every design on this site

Every design on Re Embroidery is hand-digitized by one person. Each file gets sketched, color-matched, and stitch-tested on real fabric before it earns a place in the shop. No team. No auto-conversion from images. Just slow, deliberate work, sometimes three or four days per design.

That's the joy I work for.

The hard part is finding my designs re-uploaded and resold elsewhere. So when you buy from Re Embroidery, you're paying one real person for the file you're about to download. That matters.
