The heart shape here isnt drawn with a solid border, its built entirely from the word love repeated over and over in different sizes and lettering styles. Bold all-caps LOVE sits next to a smaller italic love, a cursive looping love tucks underneath, each word a different scale and weight, all packed together until they collectively trace out the heart silhouette. Its a typography collage that reads as a heart from a distance and as a word cloud up close.

Its all in red, single thread, which is what keeps it cohesive despite the mix of fonts and scales. The stitch count is on the lighter side at 6,346 stitches for the 2.93-inch size up to 11,638 at 5.42 inches, so the thread coverage isnt dense. Thats intentional because the open negative space between the words is part of the composition. Use a light tearaway for cotton and youre done. Pop a cutaway underneath stretch fabrics only to avoid distortion.

4 sizes total, from 2.93 to 5.42 inches wide. The smallest 2.93-inch size suits cap embroidery or a shirt pocket. The 5-inch version suits pillowcases or tote bags where you want it to read from a normal viewing distance. Hoop with 51 trims in the mid sizes so the individual word shapes stay defined. I get orders for this one around valentines day obviously but also for anniversary gifts and wedding favour bags throughout the year.

Its one of those designs that looks better in person than it does on screen, the mix of lettering styles has more character once its actually stitched on fabric.

What people are using this design for

A starting point. The design works for plenty more than just this list, this is what folks have stitched it onto most.

  • Valentine's Day gift on a red or white tote bagWhite canvas totes with red thread look clean and intentional, the contrast makes the typography pop.
  • Anniversary pillow or cushion cover centrepieceThe 4-5 inch size centres well on a standard 18x18 pillow cover in solid white or blush fabric.
  • Wedding favour bag or small pouch accentSmall favour bags at the 3-inch size take the design well; stitch before sewing the bag together.
  • Girlfriend or wife birthday gift shirt or hoodieLight cotton hoodies take the 4-inch size with medium tearaway; the red thread pops on grey or white.
  • Nursery decor on a muslin or cotton wall hangingNatural muslin in a 7-inch hoop framed with dowel rod makes a sweet nursery wall piece.
  • Scrapbook fabric panel or card insertCut a stitched cotton panel to A5 size and mount inside a card blank for a handmade valentine.
  • Cap or beanie front panel small Valentine accentHard front caps take the 2.93-inch size well; stick to tearaway backing for the cleaner finish.

About the artist

Reyazul Masud Riham, hand-drawing every design on this site

Every design on Re Embroidery is hand-digitized by one person. Each file gets sketched, color-matched, and stitch-tested on real fabric before it earns a place in the shop. No team. No auto-conversion from images. Just slow, deliberate work, sometimes three or four days per design.

That's the joy I work for.

The hard part is finding my designs re-uploaded and resold elsewhere. So when you buy from Re Embroidery, you're paying one real person for the file you're about to download. That matters.
