The gnome is round and low to the ground, the big hat towers over the body which is kinda the whole joke of gnomes. Tall pointed hat in red and cobalt blue with a broad black brim, theres a single blue heart shape on the left side of the hat banding. The gnome itself has no visible face to speak of, just a tiny round peach nose poking out and a wild explosion of yellow-gold fringe that serves as the beard and frames the whole head. Both stubby arms wrap around a big plump red satin heart held front and center. Small red hearts float around the outside like they escaped. The red cursive text to the right reads Love you Mom in flowing script with the m sitting big and bold at the end.
Eight colours, nine sizes from 2.81 up to 6.02 inches wide. The height runs 3.51 to 7.51 inches because the hat is tall. Stitch count is 18,766 on the smallest size and 44,140 at the largest. The lettering is satin column stitching which means it holds crisp edges at most sizes, its honestly the cleanest part of the design. That yellow fringe around the face uses directional satin that fans out naturally from the base of the nose. Wilcom digitised this so the transition from the hat fill to the golden fringe to the heart doesnt create a jumble of competing densities at the edges, and thats important when youre running this on a small 4-inch hoop.
This is one of those designs that moves heavily in the weeks before mothers day. I get orders from people making tote bags, tea towels and cushion covers as handmade gifts for their mums. One customer last may ordered it for a set of 3 matching tea towels she was giving her mum, her nan and her mums best friend. She said they all cried which I recieved as a great review honestly. Its a lil sentimental, which is exactly the point.
Pop it on white or cream cotton for the cleanest colours. The red lettering and red heart need a pale background or they bleed into the ground. Stitch it on a natural linen tea towel, a cream canvas tote or a white cotton cushion cover. Use tearaway stabiliser on stable woven fabric. Avoid stretchy fabric for the text sections, satin lettering on jersey pulls and the letters wont hold their shape without proper cutaway underneath. Nine sizes gives ya good range from small pocket logos up to full cushion front art.
