Loved mama butterfly, and took me a while to land on this one. The whole idea is that one wing stays solid black like a proper monarch, and the other wing just becomes flowers. Daisies, little filler blooms, the odd purple speck. Theres an orange sunflower centre on the big daisy and it catches the eye straight away, even on dark fabric.

Script across the top right reads loved mama in a relaxed lowercase handwriting style, the kind that looks like someone actually wrote it rather than picked it from a font menu. Its the sort of lettering that doesnt look like a font at all, more like a note someone left on the table. The letters sit right on the wing surface, stitched in black so they read as part of the silhouette at a glance. Gets you on second look when you realise its text.

Five sizes in the bundle: 5 x 4.14 inches at 18,983 stitches up to 10 x 8.28 inches at 40,053 stitches. Density is 484 in Wilcom, which keeps the flower outlines from going stiff and the script stays legible even at the smaller end. Hoop with a medium-weight cutaway behind the black wing section, that satin coverage needs something solid underneath or the directional fill can shift. The flower side is all outline work so its lighter. Use a stabiliser that pulls clean on trim because theres 122 trims in the smallest size alone.

One customer who bought the 8-inch version said she stitched it onto a canvas zip tote for her mum for Mothers Day last year. She sent me a photo and the orange centre on that big daisy really does pop against the natural canvas. Stitch the script colour last so the letterforms sit sharp on top of the wing satin. Holler if you run into anything with the colour stops, happy to help sort it.

Behind every stitch

About the artist

Reyazul Masud Riham, hand-drawing every design on this site

Every design on Re Embroidery is hand-digitized by one person. Each file gets sketched, color-matched, and stitch-tested on real fabric before it earns a place in the shop. No team. No auto-conversion from images. Just slow, deliberate work, sometimes three or four days per design.

That's the joy I work for.

The hard part is finding my designs re-uploaded and resold elsewhere. So when you buy from Re Embroidery, you're paying one real person for the file you're about to download. That matters.
