Just the 2 letters m-a paired with a lightning bolt. No frills, no script flourishes. The bolt is angular and thick, sitting either beside or beneath the text, and the overall shape is compact and portrait oriented. Sizes run from 0.48 wide and 2 inches tall on the tiny size growing to 1.43 wide by 6 tall at the largest, so its specifically a small-placement design. Stitch counts begin at 1425 on the tiny end and reach 4606 on the large, density 537 which gives the letters solid satin fill without puffing on cotton canvas or denim twill.

Wilcom drove the underlay for this one and because the letter forms are simple the satin coverage lands clean even at 0.48-inch width. Im glad I built it tight because loose underlay at this scale would let the bolt edges wobble. Use a soft cutaway for structured fabrics. Back jersey or knit with a heavier cutaway and slow your machine speed down slightly for the bolt section since sharp angles can skip stitches on high tension. A customer this year used the largest 6-inch run on a canvas drawstring bag in black thread on yellow fabric and said it looked exactly like a band merch item, thats exactly the kind of feedback I was hoping for.

Pick this if you want a short punchy word with attitude. The lightning bolt pulls it away from the standard mama script world into something that reads more like a typographic word art piece. Dont use pale pastel thread on pale fabric, the satin needs contrast to read at this scale. And because its only 2 letters, youll be done in under 10 minutes even at the largest size. So its a fast add-on for any personalisation batch.

What people are using this design for

A starting point. The design works for plenty more than just this list, this is what folks have stitched it onto most.

  • Hat brim or cap crown detailThe 1.43-inch size runs along a hat brim or cap crown for a bold placement that still feels compact.
  • Shirt pocket or sleeve badgeStitch on a shirt chest pocket in black or white thread for a subtle typographic personalisation.
  • Small zipper pouch personalisationThe compact 0.48-inch version fits any zipper pouch gusset or pull-tab area as a quick marker.
  • Canvas tote bag corner markUse the 3-inch version on a canvas tote corner in contrasting thread for a graphic design feel without a full front placement.
  • Mothers Day accessory or keychain fobBack a thick cotton keychain fob with cutaway stabiliser and stitch the smallest size as a Mothers Day accessory detail.
  • Patch backing for iron-on or sew-onHoop on patch backing and stitch the 5-inch size for an iron-on or sew-on patch with a strong graphic presence.
  • Sports bag or gym bag panelStitch on a sports duffel pocket panel in the 4-inch size, white on black nylon-blend canvas reads sharp.

About the artist

Reyazul Masud Riham, hand-drawing every design on this site

Every design on Re Embroidery is hand-digitized by one person. Each file gets sketched, color-matched, and stitch-tested on real fabric before it earns a place in the shop. No team. No auto-conversion from images. Just slow, deliberate work, sometimes three or four days per design.

That's the joy I work for.

The hard part is finding my designs re-uploaded and resold elsewhere. So when you buy from Re Embroidery, you're paying one real person for the file you're about to download. That matters.
