She sent me a photo this past May after running the largest size on a sweatshirt back, letters practically filled the whole panel. MAMA in four big varsity-style block caps, each one outlined with a thick satin border, center left open, the whole word arching up in the middle like its on a high school jersey. Tall letters, 6 inches at the smallest up to 10 inches at the largest. Wide at the base, narrow at the top, collegiate proportions all the way.
4 colours and the colour work is layered satin on those outlines, so the letter walls have some depth instead of flat single-pass fills. Stitch count sits between 12k and 21k across 5 sizes, density at 524, which keeps the outlined sections from stiffening fabric too much. Tape stabiliser behind the hoop before you start, especially on sweatshirt fleece where the fabric wants to stretch under tension. Im pretty careful with the density calibration on these so the letters dont go board-stiff on soft fabrics.
Use cutaway on knits and fleece, tearaway on woven cotton or canvas. Keep the machine speed down on the thick satin outline sections. Skip velvet or pile fabric, the open centers collect fuzz. Best on smooth surfaces: sweatshirt fleece, denim, canvas, cotton twill. Reach out if anything goes wrong on download and Ill get it fixed straight away.
