Mama bubble letters and a peach floral backdrop, thats the design here. The word MAMA sits centred in chunky rounded bubble outline letters, all black, like a bold marker drawing. Behind and underneath the letters is a horizontal floral panel, soft blush pink and peach watercolour blooms layered with black line art leaves and sprigs woven through.
Three colours total. Blush pink as the lighter base fill, a deeper peach for the bloom shading, and black for the bubble letter outlines plus the botanical line work over the top. The pink fills go down first, then black detail rides above them, classic layered approach for a boho look.
I drew this last christmas after a customer wrote me asking for something modern mum, not the cutesy florals I had been making. She wanted something her sister wouldnt roll her eyes at, you know. Sent her this and she ordered a stack of crewneck sweatshirts for the whole family christmas morning, mom, sister, aunt, grandma. People have been ordering it since for similar family bulk runs.
Five sizes, smallest is 3.5 inch wide for a left chest tee stitch or pocket detail. Largest stretches 7.5 inch across for a centred sweatshirt or tote panel. Stitch count tops at 23.4k on the big one because the layered fill plus line art work adds up fast.
Stitches cleanly on cotton, fleece sweatshirt fabric, denim and canvas. Those soft tones hold best on cream, white, sand or oatmeal backgrounds where the colours still read clean. Skip dark fabric because the soft blooms lose their character there. Back woven cotton with tearaway, swap to cutaway behind any sweatshirt or knit. Hoop tight and trim jumps as you go, theres a few hops in the colour change sequence. Message me a note if anything wont open and ill fix it same day.
