Mama written in flowing cursive script with small floral sprigs and leaf clusters sitting around the lettering, the sort of piece that looks like it could be painted on a card by hand. Two colours only: dusty rose for the script and sage green for the botanicals. Its a light, airy combination and the density at 398 keeps the whole thing soft rather than heavy on the fabric.
Five hoops from 3.5 inches up to 7.5 inches wide. Heights run narrower, 2.06 to 4.42 inches, because the word is landscape-orientated. Stitch counts 6,170 to 13,207, so even the largest hooping is a relatively quick run. Pop it on with a tearaway behind woven fabrics. Use a soft cutaway behind jersey or knit blanks so the word stitches dont distort after washing.
My mum actually saw this one when I was testing it last spring and asked me to stitch it on her apron. Thats when I knew it had the right feeling. The script reads warm and personal without being over-done.
Best on light-coloured blanks so the dusty rose reads properly. Avoid dark navy or black fabrics unless you switch the thread to ivory or white.
