This mama floral design sells itself at a mothers day market stall. Eight colours, nine ranging 3.5-7.5 right scaling 7.5 wide, and a high density of 151 across the floral fill areas, which means the blooms around the lettering come out looking really full and three-dimensional when theyre hooped up. Stitch counts run from 1,121 at the smallest all the way to 54,726 at the largest, so plan some machine time if youre doing the biggest size on a tote or cushion. But its worth every minute. I digitised this in Wilcom with a layered underlay pass under the rose petals so they sit properly even on medium-weight woven fabrics. One size done.

Back with heavyweight cutaway on any stretch fabric, the satin script sections need firm support or the letters can pull and distort. On woven linen or cotton a tearaway works fine, and the fill density means the design holds its shape well even through washing. The script letterforms run with directional satin at a slight angle to give them that hand-written feeling, not a flat mechanical look. Dont use the auto-densify setting if your software has one, it'll mess with the existing fill angles.
Stitch the 5.5 inch size on a linen tote for a gorgeous mothers day gift. Use the smaller 4 inch version on a sweatshirt chest, looks like you paid three times the price. Add a light white underlay run before the coloured flower fills if your fabric has a saturated colour, otherwise the pink petals can look muted. Pair a warm dusty rose thread with a soft sage green and youll get exactly the colour mood this design calls for. Avoid black or very dark base fabrics unless you add a white underlay pass first.
