The letters spell out MAMA and each one has small hearts tucked inside, stitched or filled with applique fabric. Its a proper applique design with 4 colour changes: lay down fabric for the letter bodies, tack it, then satin border, then the hearts inside each letter in a contrasting colour. The technique gives it real texture and thickness that pure satin fill just doesnt.

Density is 932 which is high, this is a heavy coverage design and it needs proper backing. Five sizes, the smallest width is 1.71 inches and tallest height runs 7.51 inches, stitch count from 11,398 up to 25,616 at the largest. Cutaway stabiliser is non-negotiable on this one, dont try tearaway, it wont hold at that density.

Dm me if you need guidance on the applique step order and I'll walk you through it. This design sells alot around Mothers Day, last May I had customers ordering it for personalised tea towels and aprons for their mums. One customer made a matching set for her mum and her nan and both of them cried, which is probably the best review I've ever got.

Use a medium weight cotton or cotton canvas when cutting your applique pieces, something that doesnt fray badly when you hoop it. Pop the largest size on a sweatshirt front for a bold mum gift, or use a medium size on a linen tea towel for something more kitchen-friendly.

Skip sheer fabrics for the applique pieces aswell, they tend to show the backing through and the hearts lose their crispness.

What people are using this design for

A starting point. The design works for plenty more than just this list, this is what folks have stitched it onto most.

  • Mothers day sweatshirt giftThe largest size on a soft sweatshirt front makes a warm and personal mothers day gift that feels made with care.
  • Personalised apron for mumStitched on a plain linen or cotton apron front it upgrades a practical kitchen gift into something sentimental.
  • Linen tea towel kitchen giftOn a hemmed linen tea towel at medium size it looks like a proper craft-fair quality gift without buying it there.
  • Tote bag for mumA medium size on a canvas tote makes a practical everyday bag your mum will actually use past may.
  • Baby shower gift for new mumOn a little cotton project bag or drawstring pouch it makes a lovely keepsake for a new mum.
  • Quilted wall art panelMounted in a 6 inch embroidery hoop on cream canvas it makes a simple art piece for a nursery or kitchen wall.
  • Cotton bib or burp clothA small version on a cotton bib makes a sweet personalised newborn gift from a grandma or auntie.

Behind every stitch

About the artist

Reyazul Masud Riham, hand-drawing every design on this site

Every design on Re Embroidery is hand-digitized by one person. Each file gets sketched, color-matched, and stitch-tested on real fabric before it earns a place in the shop. No team. No auto-conversion from images. Just slow, deliberate work, sometimes three or four days per design.

That's the joy I work for.

The hard part is finding my designs re-uploaded and resold elsewhere. So when you buy from Re Embroidery, you're paying one real person for the file you're about to download. That matters.
