Its four block letters and thats all it needs to be. MAMA sits wide and low across the fabric, each letter done in that classic american varsity style where the centre is open white and the thick body is filled in warm amber orange. Black outline runs the perimeter and gives the whole thing that sharp jersey-number look, like something off the back of a 1970s college sweatshirt.
Four colours in the file: a light pink tack-down layer you dont actually see in the finished piece, a dark green run for structure, then the black outline and finally the big orange satin fill that carries most of the design. Wilcom put real care into the satin angles here, the diagonal fill direction on each letter leg is just right and the corners are clean without any thread buildup.
6 sizes from about 2 inches up to 12 inches wide. So the smallest sits nicely on a pocket square or a baby onesie collar, and the large version fills a hoodie chest or a tote front with proper presence. Stitch count scales from roughly 7.5k at the small end to sixteen thousand plus on the biggest size. Run it on woven cotton or canvas for the cleanest satin finish. Back it with a firm tearaway stabiliser that wont shift, the long straight satin columns need a solid base or the edges lift slightly after washing. Hoop snug and keep tension even across all four letters or the satin direction will look inconsistent between them.
This one sells itself. I get messages from people who've stitched it and want to know if theres a colourway option with navy instead of black outline, which tells me how much people are wearing it. Last spring I had three requests come in on the same afternoon around mothers day. That kind of response doesnt happen with designs that are just okay. Thread it in whatever contrasts with your fabric and you really cant go wrong with this design.
What people are using this design for
A starting point. The design works for plenty more than just this list, this is what folks have stitched it onto most.
- Mothers day sweatshirts and hoodiesStitch on a cream or dusty sage crewneck and the orange-on-white letters pop clean against the soft fabric tone
- Game day tees for sports mumsWorks great on a bleached denim shirt or a navy tee for football and soccer sideline mums who want something bold
- Tote bags and canvas shoppersA wide natural canvas tote carries this well at the large size, the collegiate letters give it that campus-bookshop feel
- Baby shower gifts for new mumsMakes a solid baby shower piece stitched onto a muslin blanket or small keepsake bag alongside the baby's initials
- Matching family sets for mum and kidsStitch the same design on mum's hoodie and a smaller version on the kids matching crewnecks for a coordinated set
- Linen aprons and kitchen giftsLooks warm on a natural linen apron with the orange catching the light against that undyed fabric background

About the artist
Reyazul Masud Riham, hand-drawing every design on this site
Every design on Re Embroidery is hand-digitized by one person. Each file gets sketched, color-matched, and stitch-tested on real fabric before it earns a place in the shop. No team. No auto-conversion from images. Just slow, deliberate work, sometimes three or four days per design.
That's the joy I work for.
The hard part is finding my designs re-uploaded and resold elsewhere. So when you buy from Re Embroidery, you're paying one real person for the file you're about to download. That matters.
