Just 2 colours and it looks like a proper wildlife print. The meerkat leans against a rough tree trunk on the right side of the frame, head tilted sideways, those sharp little eyes looking out with total alertness. Short pointed snout, small rounded ears flat against the head, tiny front paws just resting in the lower frame. The bark texture behind it uses vertical stroke stitching that reads completely different to the fur fill, which is the clever bit.

The fur itself comes from dozens of short directional stitches at different angles to create the fluffy-but-dense coat look without using more than black and white thread. White highlights sit on the cheek, chest and above each eye. Whisker lines are thin individual satin strokes. Its genuinely the kind of digitising work that takes a while to get right and Ive been really happy with how clean Wilcom pulled the underlay on this one.

I get wildlife embroidery buyers looking for printmaker-style pieces, and this one fills that niche. A mum bought 3 sizes last month to frame as a nature art gallery wall for her sons bedroom, smallest at 3.39-inch up to the 7-inch. She said she matted them at different border widths so they looked like a deliberate series. Really good idea actually.

Works beautifully on cream, natural linen or white cotton. The engraving look is strongest on off-white fabric because it actually mimics the look of an etching on paper. Dont skip the light ground here, the two-colour palette needs it to do its job. Back it with poly-mesh under given the density, which tops out at 44,651 stitches on the largest size. Hoop tight and go at steady speed on the dense torso and bark sections. Youve got nine sizes from 3.39 to 7.25 inches wide to choose from.

About the artist

Reyazul Masud Riham, hand-drawing every design on this site

Every design on Re Embroidery is hand-digitized by one person. Each file gets sketched, color-matched, and stitch-tested on real fabric before it earns a place in the shop. No team. No auto-conversion from images. Just slow, deliberate work, sometimes three or four days per design.

That's the joy I work for.

The hard part is finding my designs re-uploaded and resold elsewhere. So when you buy from Re Embroidery, you're paying one real person for the file you're about to download. That matters.
