I made this one last february after alot of customers asked me for something weirder, more art-gallery-on-a-jacket kind of thing. Its a design where the concept is simple but the digitising took way longer than expected, because getting the melt drips to look fluid in thread, not stiff and plastic, is genuinely hard. The satin columns had to be laid in at different angles to sell the gravity effect, and the density sits at 97 so its dense enough to hold shape on stretch fabrics aswell.

Nine from a 3.5 hoop to 7.5 inches wide, 1,220 stitches at the smallest up to 35,189 at the largest. Seven colours total. Run a 40-weight rayon for the drip sections if you want the sheen to catch light properly. Back with heavyweight cutaway on anything that moves, knits, hoodies, bags, the underlay structure needs that support or the melt edges lift over time. Skip water-soluble topping on the satin areas; it tends to crush the directional lay before the needle's even done.

And honestly the colour sequence on this one matters alot. Start with the flesh-tone base layer, build up through the teal iris, then finish with the drip darks last. Stitch the catchlight white dead last, tiny bobbin-side tension tweak to keep it from puckering. Heres the thing though, if you hoop your stabiliser too tight, you get that slight star-warp around the eyeball and it ruins the graphic look entirely. So be careful there.

I get messages fairly often asking if this works on hats. It does, but only the 3.5-to-4.5 inch sizes on a structured cap with a proper 3D puff stabiliser, the drip shape doesnt survive a low-profile soft cap at small sizes. For jackets and tote bags youre in great shape across all nine sizes. Holler if theres a colour swap you want sorted before you stitch.

What people are using this design for

A starting point. The design works for plenty more than just this list, this is what folks have stitched it onto most.

  • Back jacket panel statement artJacket back statement art at full size, the melt drips need the full canvas to show their gravity properly on dark denim.
  • Left chest on dark hoodieLeft chest on a heavy fleece hoodie at 4.5 inches, tearaway topping over the fleece surface protects the satin sheen.
  • Canvas tote bag centre stitchGym bag front pocket at 5 inches, firm stabiliser behind the zipper panel prevents pull through the high-traffic area.
  • Denim jacket sleeve patch areaStructured baseball cap front with 3D puff cutaway, the 3.5-to-4.5-inch range is the size window that works on a cap crown.
  • Structured baseball cap frontDenim jacket sleeve area at the small size, the compact eye composition sits within the sleeve panel without needing a border.
  • Gym bag front pocket accentCanvas tote centred below the handles at the mid size, the seven-colour palette reads bold on both light and dark bag fabric.
  • Beanie front panel art stitchBeanie front panel, float topping over the eyelash sections only since the drip satin doesnt need it and topping can flatten the sheen.

About the artist

Reyazul Masud Riham, hand-drawing every design on this site

Every design on Re Embroidery is hand-digitized by one person. Each file gets sketched, color-matched, and stitch-tested on real fabric before it earns a place in the shop. No team. No auto-conversion from images. Just slow, deliberate work, sometimes three or four days per design.

That's the joy I work for.

The hard part is finding my designs re-uploaded and resold elsewhere. So when you buy from Re Embroidery, you're paying one real person for the file you're about to download. That matters.
